Jeremy Horn Retires
Just read this from graciefighter.com;
Jeremy Horn has retired from MMA fighting. Well at least temporarily. After an astounding 98 fights and a record of 78-15-5, Horn has walked away from competition and will be taking at least a year off before possibly returning. During this time he will continue training fighters and will be very active in his teammate's preparations for upcoming bouts.
There has been speculation that after his losses to Chuck Liddell and Matt Linland, Jeremy decided he needed time to re-focus and assess his future in the sport he has been fighting in since 1996. We wish him the best and hope he returns soon.
Jeremy Horn is such an assest to the MMA fighting world. Sad to see him retire/take time off when he's only in his early thirties. Hopefully he'll be back sooner then later!

It would have been nice to see him reach the 100 fight mark.

I hope he returns after a short break. Jeremy Horn has been one of my favorite fighters. At least he isn't completely getting out of mma.

He'll be back. If Frank Trigg couldn't stay retired, Gumby won't either.

I can imagine it must be hard for him knowing he has 3 or 4 times the amount of fights that some champs have had but still never quite made it. I still respect him greatly and see it as a great loss. I'm sure he will pass on his skills and experience to many others.

There has been some speculation that Horn might be taking one of the coaching jobs in the IFL. If thats so, then him taking time off from competition for about a year would fit into that.

That is an impressive record, lots of fights. He already made a name for himself a long time ago, fight matches won or lost, still that is a lot of beatings, wear and tear a human body had taken over the years. With the experiences and skills he's got, Jeremy Horns should live comfortable coaching mma instead of fighting. Good choice of retirement, I wish him all the best.

This isn't retiring, it's vacation. He's just taking time off from his two previous loses to Lindland and Liddell.

i don't blame Horn for taking time off. he has been fighting for a long time and sometimes for free to help out his friends. he really has nothing left to prove. a title would be nice but that commits him to the UFC, if that was where he were to win it.

he is one of my favorite fighters... this makes me sad although i did know it was coming... i hope when he does come back (and he will) he will be more focused and better then ever... he hasnt been on his game for a little while now... every interveiw it sounded like he like training better and fighting less and less... hopefully a year of just training will make him thirsty again!
