Matt is the perfect height for all sorts of strikes by Silva. Matt will shoot in, Silva will evade and then land some quick shots.

If Matt Hughes is Good enough to beat GSP again, and keep his MW title. I'd say Matt has DONE ENOUGH, should enjoy his success and stay at WW class.

No need to go up a weightclass and get KTFO by someone like Silva. Even if he said he WOULD before the fight. Meh, its not like he'd be the only guy to say something and then refrain from trying to back it up.

Yup i can't see Matt Hughes being a match for silva. Silva is larger, probabley STRONGER, has REAL KO power, and is pretty fast too.

I could see matt shooting in for a takedown, and silva unloading with a precise furry of punches/knees, and KO'ing matt before he even knew what happened. Those punches Matt took from BJ Penn would seem like NOTHING in comparison....

I heard him say he'd consider it. I didn't hear him say he WOULD.
Unless people are referring to some other quote?

I'm just going by what i'd heard several hear say. They're claiming Matt SAID he'd DEFINITLY move up to MW and take on silva if franklin lost.

Here is the quote directly from his website:

"Sunday, October 8, 2006
Tomorrow I'm going to New York, Chuck and I will be on ESPN. Fly back tomorrow night.
This week I'll spend Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday morning with my brother getting crops out and also trying to spend as much time with my family as I can.
Thursday night, my wife and I leave for Las Vegas for the UFC. I hope Rich wins, but if Anderson wins I would consider bumping up to 185 and fighting him.
I'll fly home Sunday. -Matt"

Looks like it's consider only.

Do not look past Silvas ground game either. He's a devastating puncher, and good on the ground as well!

True Matt said it and he doesn't have to back it up if he doesn't want to. He's got his hands full with GSP. All true.

But what if Silva cut down to WW? What then. Is it even possible?

Silva would be huge at WW. Either WW or MW I think Silva will KO Matt.

i think the first fight was premature for GSp, he now has much more experience, and is menatlly prepared. i think it will be a great fight, but GSp's hands will be raised at the end. perhaps din thomas and matt serra should corner GSp, that would be interesting.

aftering seeing the TUF series, when Hughes visited the fighters, I came to disrespect Hughes for being so arrogant....Again GSP will win this fight and hope he will kick Hughes @** and take his belt after...

Bulls eye! Recently i started to dislike the wrestlers in the UFC. I think stand up battle is more interesting. Hughes tries a little stand up and in the momment he sees the double leg takedown he jumps in :/ I hope GSP wins. So we can see fresh faces...
