I often wonder if bruce-lee could hold his own against a top BJJ-guy in UFC. Sure bruce's standing JKD was supposed to be legendary, but in a ground fight against a BJJ specialist, what could he really do??
In Game of Death, Bruce Lee does display ground fighting techniques. Now, this was a film, and that means that what Bruce did was choreographed and staged, but it does show what was in Mr. Lee's mind concerning fighting styles and evolution of fighting. In the final fight scene of GoD, Bruce Lee defeats Kareem Abdul Jabaar by choking him out.

It is a shame that this film was never properly completed as Bruce Lee died during the filming. They filmed the main fight scenes first, but they have no filler scenes that one would expect in the beginning and the middle of a film. Game of Death displayed quite a few various styles of martial arts. The fight scenes are shown in the Bruce Lee: A Warrior's Tale documentary...

I agree, and the results of the Florian-Cope fight support what you said. I hope that Kit Cope is training BJJ and wrestling. I would like to see him in MMA again in the UFC.

The fight was short and very one-sided. Florian wasn't in it before he landed an elbow that cut Leben's forehead. Covering up is not a Leben strong suit.

What's the origin of pwned? I know what it's supposed to mean but I don't know why.

I think it has to do with some online game. I remember someone posting the actual origin of it somewhere on on the board but can't remember what it was.

Exclamation

I think "pwned" came from Half-Life games like Team Fortress and Day of Defeat and Counter Strike. That is when I first came across it. That "p" is suppossed to be the mouth and tongue of the emote :-p. We all have heard that saying, "I own you!" This slang was a merger of an emote and the word owned. I may know a lot about it, but I also HATE it very much. No offense to those that use it, but it just rubs me the wrong way a lot when I play Half-Life 2: Day of Defeat Source.
