Would be cool if it would happen, however i do not see this as being more than a rumor. Also, if this happened, I imagine Dana White would move the hughes vs GSP fight to another ppv, which would suck.

Im not too sure how much Dana would want to see a Pride fighter take the Heavyweight belt back with him to Pride...which is what I think would most likely happen in this matchup. Sylvia just doesnt have the standup to go toe to toe with someone like Cro Cop.

I think it would be a far likely possibility to replace Monson with Branden Vera. Vera is already training anyway so he'd be ready for Silvia. I don't think Mirko/Silvia will ever happen as long as Mirko is a pride fighter.

My thoughts exactly. Pride/UFC matches are pipe dreams now people. Especially after the catfight that Dana had with those Pride reps on that radio show. I'd have no problem with Vera getting the call and would be rooting for him to win it for sure.

CroCop just won the OWGP and has a date with Fedor, why would he take a fight against Sylvia who is considered by many to be only the 3rd or 4th best HW in the world. while CroCop is easliy ranked 2nd. its a step back for CroCop. CroCop also just put on one of the most dominating performances of all time in PrideFC, its doubtful that they'd allow CroCop to fight in the UFC. and finally, why would the UFC give CroCop who has no previous ties to the UFC, a title shot that he could very well win. the UFC has no other contenders and that would leave the UFC without a HW champion when CroCop forfeits his title when he goes back to Pride to fight Fedor. bad rumor.

yeah, and either would CroCop. there is absolutely no reason for him to take a fight with Tim and there is absolutely no reason for the UFC to offer it. until there is a verifiable source i see no reason to even consider this a rumor. rumors at least have a source.

It could be seen as a step back, if they were in the same organization and Cro Cop was ranked higher than Tim. This is a different scenario all together though. In this case, Cro Cop now has a future fight with Fedor to possibly become the new Heavyweight Champ at Pride while Tim is the HW title holder in the UFC. There arent many people that would give Tim much hope of winning against someone like Cro Cop as well. What a good oportunity, if its true, for Cro Cop to not only be going on to get the Pride FC HW belt but do so while holding the UFC HW belt. The amount of publicity and exposure here in the U.S. that would give to Pride is huge, which is exactly what they are looking for right now with them trying to get Pride going in the U.S. and get a solid fanbase. I can see the UFC turning this fight down before Pride or Cro Cop would. The only way I could see them turning this down is if the fight date somehow interferred with his chance to fight Fedor.

If this is true (which is highly questionable) Then I believe that Cro-Cop would be the new UFC HW champ. But contrary to popular belief there would be formidable contenders for him. Brandon Vera, AA, Jeff Monson, Frank Mir. Anyone who thinks other wise should think back to the time Cro-Cop was KO'ed by Kevin Randleman. Everybody has a chance( I was so disappointed after that happened.
