Tito???
OK, sorry if this has been said already...
Maybe we should have a poll to see who really thinks Tito even deserves this fight. Now, I admit, I want to see it too because I want to see Tito get his head knocked off and then I think it might finally spell the end of Tito. But, should he even be getting this fight? His latest wins were not against who I would have called top contenders. Belfort (fighting terrible), Cote, Shamrock (gimme a break) although Griffin is no cake walk.....I'll give him that one.
I've never really thought Tito was that good certainly not by today's standards, he is not well rounded and has a fairly one dimensional fight game....ground and pound. Chuck is similar in that sense but he has two lethal weapons which have served him well....he's hard to take down and he hits HARD.
Chuck has at times had problems with endurance but that shouldn't be a problem with Ortiz.
It may go more than one but Tito will be waiving a white flag when it's over.....and he'll be FINISHED!

I think it's hard to argue that anyone in LHW deserves the shot more than Tito. But his list of credentials sinse returning is not that impressive.

I'm giving away 3000 of my points (If I lose) on Tito KOing Chuck round 2 with a left hook.
The first person to say I told you so if I lose gets them.
If I win?
I just want to be worshipped forever! By everyone!

I think chuck will k.o. Ortiz just because Tito wont be able to get past that sprawl.

i think we may be arguing the same point
and by the way, i saw the first fight a few times, and i am not sure i saw the phantom eye poke that EVERYONE has to mention. i didnt see it, i dont consider chuck an eye poker, and i am tired of hearing about it (not directed at you personally, but at everyone lol).
did chuck ever say there was an eye poke. i watched the fight several times, if any of you can find a link or a comment or some evidence that i cant, i would appreciate it. i am not saying that it didnt happen, i just didnt see and dont know about it (bear in mind that there are a lot if things i havent experienced but have seen or heard of, like the female org...never mind, not forum relevant, well at least not this forum anyway)

EVERYONE has to mention because we all saw something that looked like an eye poke right before the flurry. Maybe it was a punch?? But it sure looked like he was reacting the way you do when you get poked.... Makes me wonder if you saw the fight or are just a die hard Chuck fan?

Nicely put. Plus the business aspect of this fight is HUGE, and the UFC has to capitalize on it now rather than risk Tito losing to anyone.

Nope. i am pretty sure i saw it a few times, the fight, not the excuse. perhaps you are such a die hard tito fan that you are unable to admit to yourself or the world at large that what you thought was an eye poke was simply the first in the flurry of crippling blows.
if there was an eye poke, i didnt see it, and if there was one, perhaps the 2nd fight will turn out differently, but i suspect not.

I have a hard time
seeing how Tito can win this fight. Yes, he's got the take down skills to put Chuck on his back, but only if he can get close enough to do it with out getting blown up. If he does put Chuck on his back he still has to keep him there, and if Randy Couture had a tough time doing that then there's no way Tito manages it.
Chuck by KO in the 2nd.

Chuck by KO in the 2nd.

Randy didnt even try to shoot in either their 2nd or 3rd fight. He just got KO'd.
So I don't know that you'd say Randy had a hard time getting past Chuck's sprawl when he didnt even try for a shoot.
I think Tito can AND WILL find a way to get Chuck on his back. He's got some world class beasts up in Big Bear with him right now. And I think he's working on controlling the cage and cutting off Chuck's angles. That's the only way you will beat The Iceman. Cut off his routes, limit his distance, get him on his back regardless of whether he stands back up or not.
Tito has to make this fight about Cardio in order to win. He has to prepare for the possibility that with all the takedown attempts, he's going to need to pace himself to keep doing that to Chuck.
I guarantee that Chuck will gas if you force him to keep getting taken down and get back up. Why? Because he's also gonna throw bombs. You keep throwing bombs hard and them not working or only working a little on Tito's big freakin head, and Tito keep pushing.....That spells trouble for the Iceman.
Tito said it best a few fights ago: "I have to prepare for a war". I think tito is tough enough and definitely conditioned enough to do it.
O BTW.... Has anyone forgotten that Tito has a helluva Chin??????????

I plan on putting all my points on GSP and then most of my points on Tito (yes I am more confident in GSP than Tito).
