I agree. I like Shammy but the truth is that he was and is too old to fight anymore.
Well, he blocked Chuck's leg kick at the bell. But to be honest, if you look how tired Chuck was in between rounds, I'd argue that if Chuck had unleashed any follow ups after that leg kick that Tito blocked, I think Tito wouldve been able to survive a flurry and actually make Chuck punch himself out.
To me, that is the only weakness I think you can exploit with Chuck. Make him blow too much oxygen. If you can survive long enough, I think even at this stage vs. a far superior conditioned athlete like Tito, you have a chance. Not much of one, but a chance. I think Tito knows this, I think he's training to this. I think he's getting the best boxers and kickboxers up in his camp,he's already up training with Manny Pacquiao and guys like that from what I hear and may even Maurice Smith come help him out.
I think this fight could go either way to be honest. I like The Iceman, I think he's a beast, but I also think that of all his fights, Tito was the only one even remotely close to being able to take what Chuck gave him.
Oh and Horn too, but I dont consider a guy standing in front of another guy for 3 1/2 rounds just letting the guy hit you a fight like Horn did.

i dont like tito, i never have. but i will agree withyou that tito may be the only perosn to take the belt from chuck, in the exact fashion you laid out above. after watching many of chuck's fight, i think he could be rattled by a guy who could take his best and keep coming. look at the vernon white fight. vernon took liddell's best, had chuck gassed, and then chuck landed a lucky shot. the end of the fight is irrelevant, the fact remains that if tito can do what white did, but for a few minuted more, he may just snatch this fight from liddell.

I hope Tito can stand up to Chucks crazy punching power-- the only thing is Chuck would be a hard one to train for, his punches are from strange angles and he is an amazing counter puncher.
I don't see Tito even coming close to winning this fight. his last fights have been against forest whom he just got the W and the fight could have gone to forest now he has been spending so much time fighting ken shamrock that i don't think he has had enough of a challange yet and it really does piss me off that this guy is getting a title shot. he lost afew fights and had problems with

Now he comes back has 3 fights 2 with the same guy and now he gets a title shot??? i think chuck should have faught silva first and tito should have had a fight with sobral or someone who is considered top 5 in the LHW division. I hope chuck really hurts him this time i don't like Tito at all never have and never will but i do respect his skill but you have to consider he can't stand with chuck#1 #2 he will have a hard time getting chuck to the ground and #3 chuck was ranked higher as a wrestler then tito was.

good piont, but the top 5 guys, except chuck, work for other organizations, thus it becomes tough. i see what your saying and i agree, but i think the ufc is stuck with the lack of talent that they have. i would suggest that that is the very reason that silva was brought in. perhaps for this reason we may see wandy fight chuck, here's hoping??
yeah, Dana was saying it took him 3 years to get silva to come to UFC might just be that some fighters just wanna fight they don't want to be in the spotlight all the time with the reporters and all it's ok if your an actor but for a fighter i assume it could knock you off your game. hhhmmm maybe i have stumbled on somthing here???? franklin has been like a poster boy for awhile aswell as hughes. Tito did start sliping after he started doing "actor" roles and commercials. maybe all the attention goes to there head?? and they think there better then they are?? and don't spend enough time training as they should be?? i dunno i guess it does make some sence tho. hughes did look alittle off his game with his BJ fight ohh well all the better for GSP if he is. hughes needs to fall tho to make him come back to the old respectable person he once was. good thing about silva as champ is it will be hard to stick a guy who can't speak english in a commercial in north america lol
Chuck has been doing just as much acting as Tito.Chuck was on that retarded Blade Series, he's been on Xyience commercials, he was on Howard Stern.
All the top guys at LHW have been doing "The Hollywood" thing.
I think people always underestimate Tito. He's not dumb. He learns from his mistakes and I think to just write him off for this fight is stupid. It's not like Tito walks in to a fight going "Gee, I know I'm gonna get knocked out again!"
Maybe Ken Shamrock has that mindset, but not a fighter who's still pretty much in his prime and trains properly with one of the toughest camps in the world like Tito does.
This is going to be more of a fight than people think.

and numer 3 (drum roll) i will agree that this will be a fight moreso than most people think, and i truly hope it isconsidering how much i pay to see these things lol. but, you must admit that if a person were to base their prediction solely on the first time these two warriors met, and if they also base this fight on tito's inability to put forreset away, and if the nay sayers premise their prediction on ortiz getting used to fighting shamrock, it isnt too diificult to see hwy they think this fight will be a short one.

Chuck Liddell wins once again. This time however I think it will be round 3 or 4 instead of 2 like the last time. Ortiz will make it even round 1, Liddell will begin mauling him after that.

i agree full heartedly that forrest really is that good. my piont was, thiugh, thatif you simply guage tito's likely performance against what he has done of late, it is not difficult to undersdtand why some people dont think it will be a very long fight.
but again, i think forrest's ability should be remebered in that fight and not tito's inability.
i dont recall saying that chuck would put forrest away, but i think he would, as forrest only seems to get going once he is somewhat hurt, and i dont think chuck only hurts people a little bit. either way, that would be gfight that i would love to see!!

I totally concede that. All good points. All I'm saying about Tito is he is resilliant.
Just when you think he's done (as many did in his 1 1/2 year layoff), he comes back to...Oh..Be a coach on TUF III and do very very well and actually help better train young fighters of the future and continue to train with him today.
I think Tito will be more than prepared (he always is) for this fight. I keep going back to fact that Chuck himself repeatedly states the reason he himself trains harder each time is because of Tito. He knows he'll have to face this fool again, and knows Tito always comes in to a fight 110%.
And the Forrest thing?
I honestly don't see how the Tito naysayers think Forrest won this fight. I'll argue that Tito did just enough boxing (with a bum leg BTW) to hold Forrest off. Forrest hit Tito with his best shots, they didnt damage Tito. End of story.
Tito gets a crucial takedown at the end of the fight, so he rightfully wins a close decision. Fair and square. Same story of how he beat Belfort.
I'm going to be the sole Tito supporter here and I'm sticking by my prediction as nutty as it may sound to many of you (and I do know and respect what you're all saying BTW)...

I would seriously throw a party if Tito does that though. That would shock the world more than Rich getting annihilated. Then again the amount of whining and crying will be about ten times worse than it is now with Rich's championship demise.

I remember a day (guess what not too long ago) where Tito WAS THE LHW of the world including Pride cause he beat Wanderlei.
If in 2003 you said Tito would be looking up at regaining a title vs. Chuck about 85% of MMA fans would laugh and the "so called" MMA reporters would all laugh (that's why I dont buy the expertise of MMA reporters,most of them are just like Rogan,they go with the flavor of the month)/

I think you misunderstood. I would do that out of joy. But also it is a tad farfetched solely for the reason of Chooch havin a pretty solid chin. I'll be surprised only for that reason not because I don't think Tito can't throw. So my offer still stands party at my house if it happens. The Natty Light will be on tap.
