anderson silva vs chuck
i hate to say it... he hasnt even defended once... but that was the most ridiculous performance ive ever seen... i love rich, its sad he lost, its hard to be a huge fan of silva even tho hes so well spoken (just because its not in english) but silva even at this weight vs chuck?? thoughts... because after seeing that i have NO clue what would happen... silva hits SO hard and so fast... its unreal

Suggesting that would have sounded ridiculous earlier this evening. But after seeing the way Silva made Rich Franklin look like an absolute can, I'd be paying for him to step in against Liddell. One guy would absolutely be guaranteed to go to sleep, and with Silva's precision striking, I can't say definitely that he'd lose.

yea it was ridiculous to even think that about an hour ago.... now, man i dont know... we were all talking here, silva didnt seem human.. he moved in an unreal way, hit so hard, was SO much stronger then rich, but on top of all that was twice as fast as rich...
him vs chuck? id take silva, cant believe im even saying that... i think the ONLY type that can beat silva is a tito? or someone who is great at GnP who can bring and hold him to the ground

Hypothetical Silva vs Chuck Poll
Different weight classes aside, if they were to fight who wins? Silva would take Chuck apart convincingly with his speed and technique.

I agree. I mean nobody is unbeatable at a particular style but it looks like a good GnP guy is the best bet for defeating silva.

The only problem with the GNP guys, Hughes and Ortiz, they have mediocre standup. You gotta wonder if they could even get inside on Silva. I would say they probably could, because Silva's track record is that he can get taken down, but you never know how much Silva has improved and how he could handle fighting guys who don't have any standup for him to respect.

I told you months ago. Silva has the best footwork in all of MMA. He's not the greatest fighter in the world, but I definitely would give him a chance against Chuck. I don't know if I'd be as confident as I was that he'd beat Rich but I wouldn't count him out for sure.

I forget who said it, but there is always a better fighter out there somewhere. Sooner or later a fighter will come up and beat Fedor. Silva is the better fighter, at least he was tonight. My hat is off to him. Anderson Silva is THE MAN. He destroyed Leben and Franklin like it was a walk in the park. ::Guitar-dance:: I am sold of Silva.
Hey, maybe we will get a Silva-Liddell fight after all :0

When is the last time a fighter came into a division and dominated it so quickly? Is it ridiculous to say Silva's destruction of Franklin and Leben is pretty close to Couture dropping to 205 and beating Liddell and Tito? Yeah, obviously the MW division doesn't have the respectability of those fighters or division, but he just took out the champion and a top contender like they were NOTHING. In 2 fights, he basically established no UFC MW can touch him.

I think I agree. It's weird to say this so soon but he looks sooooo freaking awesome. Im just wondering who/how he will be beat by. Is it just that he had Rich's number tonight? that could be the case. Or is it that he is just that good? Will another stiker come and knock him off? Lucky punch? or dominate GnP?
hmmmmm
what would we all think if he lost his next fight?

I would pay anything to see Anderson Silva fight Chuck Liddell. Silva taking out Franklin that quickly definatley makes me consider Silva right up there at Liddell's level.

There probably is a man who actually is capable of beating Fedor. I know it seems impossible and we've all made jokes about how he is a machine and unstoppable but there always is someone bigger and badder. Remember just a couple days ago you and many many others thought there was no one going to touch Franklin. Just shows how things are never what they seem. I was confident of Silva's abilities but not even I was that confident. I thought it was going to be a war not a complete domination.

Silva is an amazing fighter...but...Rich is an amazing fighter as well... I don't care what anyone says. I honestly think that Rich was not at 100% in this fight...but I am not trying to take anything away from Silva...he won flat out and definitively. I say give Franklin ample time to recoop...let him take 3 or 4 fights...and then let him challenge again sometime late next year. He will surely be back. He was caught kinda off guard with Silva's strong muy thai clinch. In another fight with Silva...I would stake my life that Rich would not let this happen again.
Silva can be beaten of course(lost twice in pride I think).
Did you see the look on Rich's face as he was walking to the octagon? Did not look well to me.
But...nonetheless...congrats to Silva with his victory...indeed it will be hard to find a man to really challenge him at 185 other than Franklin.

I agree with this post 100%. Good first post. Give the man a couple of title defences before you start moving him up.

Mike Swick will be a perfect example of "Careful what you wish you" He wants the title shot, he will now get it, and he'll be lucky to walk away healthy. I'm seriously concerned about the well-being of the MW fighters that get into the Octagon with this guy. That's not exaggeration either. Chris Leben has a granite chin and Silva dropped and concussed him without even connecting fully. I will be very surprised if Franklin don't have broken ribs, internal bleeding, a broken nose, and a concussion

I don't know, Putting Rich & Leben in the same league as Chuck? No way. It would be good, but Chuck would win.

There is already a 205 lb version of Silva.
His name is Shogun, and he would beat any LHW in the world.
