I gurantee he thinks about it too and wants to fight him so he can shut guys like me up. This is one thing that pisses me off that they are doing to the fans. It's very different from the Chuck vs. Silva/Jackson fights as those are guys from other orgs and just not going to happen but the UFC got rid of their own #1 contendor or a stupid technicality that they could try and convince fans they were doing it for a different reason. Even I fell for it for a little while.

I think you're confused, sir. I'm talking about Matt Lindland, not Matt Hughes. As far as I know, Franklin and Lindland have never trained together.

Well, I was going to make a thread that wasn't a spoiler, but since this is here.
That was a clinic that Silva put on there. Way to fast, but still pretty impressive. No suprise in the outcome, but I thought it might go to round two at least.
I guess that "iron jaw" theory of Lebens is out the window.
Still, he is a good fighter to wactch when he is in his league. Silva is just in another league, I guess he might get a shot at Rich sooner rather than later. That might be a barn burner of a fight, but I would still put my chips on Rich I think.

LOL... it's obvious that they're now throwing in and undercard fight for filler. I can guarantee you back in the control truck they're all like:
"Well damn... what do we do to fill the time?"
Less than a minute... that's crazy. I would've NEVER guessed it'd be over that fast!
LOL... notice how fast they're going through introduction and everything?

No...I don't think so. It's the next logical move for Anderson, especially considering the dominating fashion he won in.

HA. Good question and I say no it isn't. I don't think my boy ET could handle that, Swick can't.

Quite honestly, after a dominating performance like this, you'd think he's ready now for a fight for the the title.
In reality though, he just fought a guy with a huge mouth and who was able to back it up against the opponents he faced that were on his level and not better. Silva needs to fight a much higher echelon MW, maybe 2 to see where he's at - if he can dominate those MWs, then I say DEFINITELY give him Rich Franklin.

I totally agree. I don't see any other guys that currently have the skills necessary to beat Rich, other than David Loiseau (And we know how that turned out).

Yeah the crow is still legit to me though, he's a good fighter. and then ET and silva.. and obviously rich.
But I think it's definitely the Silva and franklin show at 185.

I'm a huge Anderson Silva supporter and even I'm suprised how quickly this fight ended. I'd like to see Silva-Franklin as well, but ideally it'd be after Rich has totally recuperated from his injury (ie. not his first fight back). Silva-Loiseau would be an awesome fight in the meantime, though if Loiseau somehow wins that'd throw the whole contendership in disarray.

As soon as I saw Silva land those first two fast jabs to Lebans mouth, I said to myself that this wont last much longer and it didnt. Those shots were very crisp, very fast and very precise. I think that someone else may have been done after that first flurry from Silva but Leban showed he can take a hell of a punch...maybe two, but not the 10 or so he was force fed in that match. He was just dominated in the standup.
I wouldnt mind seeing Silva vs. Franklin soon but I do believe he should face someone else before Franklin. Like someone mentioned above, just to really gauge where he is at. Its no question he is top notch competition. Maybe have him face the Crow, Evan Tanner, or Nate Marquart. If he were to beat any of those, Id say his next fight very well should be a title shot.
