That's a step past his last fight.

If you go to 65.ufc.com, click on Matt Hughes and listen to what he has to say. Does anyone get the sense that Matt is making excuses already? He says anyone can win a fight, that GSP has a chance and can win a decision etc. For such a confident guy, he isn't doing his usual 'I'm the champ and will remain champ' talk. Anyone pick up on this?

You get the feeling that they put sylvia/monson and mir/vera on the same card so the the winners of both can fight for another HW title the next time around?

He probably keeps thinking about the spinning back kick that sent him ricocheting off the fence every time he gets the urge to talk ****.

That is great news! I am a big fan of Mir but right now (from previous fights) I dont see him winning. I wish him the best of luck though. If his cardio is at least where it used to be he should be a major force on the ground. His standup is not as good as Veras but, it is still good. Remember the knockout with Wes Simms! OH YEAH!

i think Vera will win a via UD. i cant see Mir being able to stand with Vera and i dont think he'll be able to submit him. so i predict Vera will outstrike Mir for 3 rounds and work from his gaurd a couple times.
