Ultimate Fight Night 8 Rumors
UFN 8 is said to be taking place sometime in December before UFC 66. Here is the rumored bouts to take place:
The main event almost confirmed is Diego Sanchez taking on Joe Riggs.
Chris Leben is still out for redemption after losing to Anderson Silva but will fight an opponent to be later announced.
I can't wait for Sanchez .vs. Riggs. Sanchez has the upper hand in this one, but both are exciting fighters IMO. Will be a good fight.

I dont know how Riggs is going to do in this fight but this will be the first fight Sanchez is in where he is cleary not as strong as his opponent. If it stands i am giving it to Riggs. Ground i am giving Sanchez the edge but Riggs is very strong and when he is on bottem might be able to just hold Diego down. We will see. I will be betting on Riggs but I am not the confident. I guess we will wait and see how interviews with him go before i count out his state of mind.

This should be a very good bout to watch. I put my money on Sanchez, he has been on a nice winning streak and I just don't see riggs stopping it.
a little off topic, but i was looking at rigg's past bouts and I thought it was interesting that he fought herb dean. I didnt know herb fought in mma.

Wow I didn't think Diego was going to fight again until sometime next year, either vs. GSP or Hughes. As much as I like Joe Riggs, I will have to bet on Diego, no one will stop him all the way to the UFC's WW Championship.

Riggs/Sanchez will be an excellent fight if it happens, whoever wins will be right up there as a title contender. I like Riggs and he has a good chance to win this if he's in the right state of mind, but I think my points will be going to Diego...he's just on too much of a roll right now.

Will be interesting to see what Riggs shows up..... The emotional wreck that looked terrible against Matt Hughes and Mike Swick or the one who desimated Jason Von Flue and several other lesser fighters. My guess is it will be the emotionally weak Riggs who apparently has been having some personal issues to deal with at home. If so look for Diego to ground and pound Riggs and catch him with a submission.

Man I would love to see Riggs win that one but I just don't see it happen. He has been submitted to many times. The UFC sure is giving Riggs a tough road of fighters that is for sure.

Riggs is a punching bag for guys like Sanchez. Sanchez is going to embarrass Riggs badly.

I've cheered against Diego since the beginning, but he continues to impress me more and more every time he fights. I was impressed when he beat Nick Diaz, but I was overly impressed when he beat Karo in his last fight. That fight was a possible fight of the year I might add.
I just don't think it will take long for Diego to take Joe Riggs to the ground and submit him or ground and pound out a decision. It's not a good match-up for Riggs just like Hughes wasn't.
And besides, I want to see a Hughes/Sanchez fight next year.

As far as I'm concerned, Diego already jumped over that guy to claim the #3 spot for himself. I see nobody in between him and a title shot right now. After that, then I say give him BJ Penn or GSP. But Diego has done more than enough to earn a title shot, and I'm not even a fan.

Diego deserves a shot at the championship very soon...he has been very impressive and dominant against most of his opponents...Diego should be able to take Riggs...

In my opinion, Diego Sanchez can beat BJ Penn who is top 3 ranked. Why?Sanchez simply has way better cardio/heart, may be better on the ground, but probably not stand up. Sanchez will be destroyed in round 1 if he were to fight Penn but once it gets passed that Penn will give up on himself like always and lose by split decision or unanimous even.
Diego Sanchez I think has a chance at beating Matt Hughes since both are similar fighters. Both good ground game, good cardio (Sanchez better though), decent wrestlers, decent strikers.
Against St. Pierre, I don't think Sanchez stands a chance. St. Pierre has good cardio/heart too, way better striker, can handle Diegos ground fighting as well.

I hope Riggs takes Diego's head off at 0:04 of the first.
