Default Ring or Octagon?

This has nothing to do with whether you like Pride or UFC better. This is whether you like the Ring or Octagon better and why? Personally I like the octagon. There's no escape and no ropes to get tangled up in. The ring is for boxing, the octagon is for fighting...imo.

The octagon's a better place for MMA fights. Like you said, there's no ropes to get tangled up in. I think a cage or octagon should be used for all MMA bouts.

Also people can use the side of the cage as another person to force the fight to stand back up. You know, fighters like Liddel can use the cage to their advantage.
