UFC Payroll !!
Below is the pay scale for UFC 51 as released by the Nevada State Athletic Commission (all figures are in US dollars):
Randy Couture: $150,000 to show, win bonus would've been $75,000
Chuck Liddell: $70,000 to show, $70,000 to win
Matt Hughes: $55,000 to show, $55,000 to win
Matt Lindland: $10,000 to show, $10,000 to win
Renato 'Babalu' Sobral: $10,000 to show, $10,000 to win
Georges St. Pierre: USD$9,000 to show, USD$9,000 to win
Frank Trigg: $14,000 to show, win bonus would've been $14,000
Patrick Cote: $10,000 to show, win bonus would've been $10,000
Mike Van Arsdale: $5,000 to show, $5,000 to win
Ivan Salaverry: $4,000 to show, $4,000 to win
Joe Riggs: $4,000 to show, win bonus would've been $4,000
Travis Lutter: $4,000 to show, win bonus would've been $4,000
Joe Doerksen: $2,000 to show, $2,000 to win
Travis Wiuff: $3,000 to show, win bonus would've been $3,000
John Marsh: $2,500 to show, win bonus would've been $2,500
Jason Miller: $2,000 to show, win bonus would've been $2,000
I would of thought that Liddell, Hughes, and Babalu made more...I heard that Yoshida and Saku make over a MILLION per fight...

I think these guys will just keep making more and more every time. The popularity seems to be growing like crazy, so the sky is the limit hopefully. They definitely deserve some good pay for putting on the show that they do each event.

UFC don't have the US sponsors like PRIDE has Jap. sponsors once they get some big US companies to sponsor them they will all get big paydays.
NOTE: I don't really know who sponsors PRIDE but I'd assume since its in Japan that there are some major tech. companies that back it.

Which companies would make a good US backer? It would be weird to have people fight on an 'Octagon brought to you by Nabisco' or somthin

I'd think some of the sports drinks Gatorade and stuff and maybe a US car company like Chevy or Ford, Nike could get into doing shorts and stuff for them.
Sprawl and stuff is cool but they don't have the pockets to fund it like it needs.....Maybe they could join up with Nike or Reebok and sale their stuff with an added logo.
Like NIKE Sprawl Ware or something like that.
And of course “THE OFFICIAL TRUCK OF THE UFC” sounds nice

The UFC does not have the mainstream acceptance by people that it needs. Many people still view the UFC as human cock fighting and fail see the sport in it all. That being said, the large sponsors are still gun shy because of the possible negative impact it could have on sales.
Large companies, like Nike for example, don't want to be subject to boycotts because they are supporting the UFC. The purpose of advertising is to promote a product or brand and ultimately increase sales. The UFC is still a risky venture for most companies in terms of perceived risk.
This has been starting to change with some larger companies starting to jump on the UFC band wagon. Going from "Rick's Tire Barn" to "Suzuki" is a great step forward. However, being realistic, it is going to be quite some time before we see companies like Microsoft, AOL and Nike join the club.
The best thing we can do as fans is support the companies that support the UFC by buying their products. Help people to see the athleticism and sportsmanship involved in MMA. It takes a great deal of time and effort to change people's preconceived notions about the sport. Zuffa knows this well and they doing everything they can to help change this.

The most amazing part for me is the ufc being able to compete with pride with hardly any fan base or sponsors.
