Personally, I think they are being encouraged behind the scenes to act up. I've said it before and I'll say it again, the UFC is going to be the WWF only with real fighting in two years.

Well I can speak for Din Thomas because he lives one town over from me. The town he is from is notorious for smack talking thugs. Our little 3 county area is basically a big retirement village but for some reason everyone from Port St. Lucie thinks they are gang members from a huge metropolis.

I saw Din probably 3 weeks ago and was going to approach him and wish him good luck, but in typical PSL fashion, he thought I wanted to start trouble and he and his "boys" gave us dirty looks and talked smack the whole time they were there. So don't base the whole MMA community's attitude on one fighter from the suburban ghetto. I'm not trying to talk bad about him at all, I have alot of respect for his skills, but he has a very poor attitude. Hell he even called Rogan out, and everyone loves Joe!

nothing new here. Matt is always cocky before his fights. As are most fighters in the game.

Rogan has ZERO interview skills, and maybe the fighters are tired of talking him through replays.

man i know what you mean about Din Thomas. I saw him at UFC 63 in the parking lot after the show ended. I walked up to him, but i gotta admit i was nervous. His hard GANG$TA clothing was scaring me (polo shirt and jeans) But even though my mind was telling me no, I had to do it. So I introduced myself, and thank god he didnt ask where i was from. But he actually talked to me like a normal human being. Right, well now my sarcasm detector is full blast. All I can say is I know people that have known him his whole life, and I was being modest as not to "flame" a fighter. Your 30 second encounter with him albeit sweet, does not reflect his true personality, whether you chose to believe it or not.

It doesnt matter to me in the slightest if Din Thomas is "rude" to Joe Rogan. I just want to see him fight. I personally dont see where he said anything wrong besides the generic post fight "Im coming for the belt."

i thought din thomas was going to do a rap when he came on the interview. if joe rogan is the best the UFC can do then im afraid its not good enough, im sick of "for show" and "arrrlllgghh rigght", i wonder how much rogan and goldie are on, and how this money can be better spent.

saying that im not sure who else could replace them and in all honesty watching the sport is not the same without a commentary team, they make it exciting, i have a bad feeling that although im sick of rogan and goldberg im not sure if the UFC would be better off without them.

I see nothing wrong with Din's attitude or anyone else's. What's wrong with people being themselves, and not pretending to be Mr.Nice Guy all the time. So what if a dude doesn't act or speak like the perfect, polite gentleman all the time. I'd rather have a fighter act like who he really is than to lie and put on a show. I wanna see real fighters, and watch for the fights, not to hear all the nice words they have for others.

Come on, I think it's actually pretty lame how all fighters are supposed to be nut-hugging their opponents all the time, and when they say the slightest negative thing, everyone's in an uproar. This is fighting, not some ballerina show for the kids.

Amen. Good post. I don't really care about fighter's personalities. I care about the skill and heart. So if Din is a "wanna be gangsta" in real life... cool. As long as he keeps showing me what he showed me in the TUF finale, doesn't bother me at all.

I'm not making a judgment on what he said in the ring, in fact, I encourage that type of talk. It's good for the ratings, and the fans like it. However, Din and I live in the same area code, almost the same town. I was treated like an idiot by him in person. I never make snap judgments, so I asked a few people that know him personally, "Is he always like that?" (a jerk) and the consensus was. YES.

Din's attitude is the same in and out of the ring. That's my point. I was trying to make a case for the rest of the "irritable" fighters out there. There is a good reason you hardly saw him on TUF 4, he's rude and anti-social.

I absolutely love the banter between Hughes and GSP. I loved when Serra talked smack to the trainer, and I respect people that speak their minds. However, I have no respect for people that do it with no class. Use your brain before you start spouting out about how good you are, and that you're "coming for the belt." It's childish and you could even see the look of discomfort on Rogan's face when Din was talking.

And I do have something personal against the "PSL thugs." They cost me tax money because a sleepy little town is forced to have more police officers per person than practically anywhere in the state of Florida, because of them.
