Nick Diaz vs Gleison Tibau

2) Your picks should include each of the following for every fight on the card:
--Winner of the fight (worth 1 point)
--Method of winning: TKO/KO, Submission, or Decision. A fight won by DQ will count as a TKO (worth 1 point)
--Round the fight ends in: The two title fights are 5 rounds, all other fights are 3 rounds (worth 1 point)

Please use the following format when submitting your picks:

Winner/Method/Round

Sylvia/Decision

There is no need to make your predictions look pretty or space them out or use a different font or copy the whole fight card. All it does is make more work for me.

And you must have predicted the Winner and Method correctly in order to have a chance to get the point for the Round. Any correct choice of Decision for the Method will automatically get the point for the Round.

4) Whoever has the most points at the end of the event will be declared the UFC 65 Predictions Contest Champion.

5) If there is a tie for most points at the end of the event, the person who sent the picks to me first will be declared the winner. So get your picks in early.

6) This contest is open to all forum members, including mods and admins, with the exception of myself.

7) The results will be posted and the winner will be announced in this thread within 24 hours of the end of the event. Only one entry per person.

The winner will receive 10,000 forum points and title of UFC Predictions Champion.

DEADLINE is Saturday, November 18th at 5:00pm CST. No picks will be accepted after that time.

Make sure your picks are complete when you send them to me because once you send them in, they are final. No changing any picks and any incomplete picks are not included in the contest.

Again, do not post predictions in this thread. Use this thread only if you have any questions regarding the contest...or if you want to do a little friendly trash talking.

Gotta say thanks and give credit to LastExit for letting me use his setup. Have fun boys and girls and please read the rules because you'll miss out on some easy points if you don't follow them.

GnP is Ground and Pound and in itself is not a stoppage, although someone may be TKO'd due to GnP. Yes, you can be tapped out due to a submission.

Not at all man. I'm pretty annoying myself. Just look at some of the replies I get on here. TKO can be many things but yes if you think it's going to be by GnP that would be a TKO. It can also be an injury, getting choked unconscious, etc. TKO is pretty much anything except a sub (when someone taps) or an actual knockout.

Oh and I forgot to mention that Sportsbook.com does have Vera vs Mir listed for UFC 66 but I haven't seen anything official on that yet. UFC.com still has Vera and Mir on the 65 card.

It appears to be a mistake. The other bookie that had it on 66 changed it back again.

I'll just go by whatever the official ruling is. I still think that is a weird gray area. If they say submission due to strikes I'll count it as a sub. But like when Horn was TKO'd by Chuck I thought that should have been a verbal submission.

To me a submission means the fighter gave up (gave in). So in my definition a verbal tap out or a tap out due to strikes would be submitting (giving up). As opposed to a TKO where the referee makes the decision.

True dat.

My picks are in so the contest is pretty much over.

You're looking at a two time champ, and future hall of famer.

Either verbal Tapout or a TKO

A lot of time people don't realize that the fighter in trouble will yell out stop when they can't tapout for some reason (like getting pummeled).

well done.

i was forced top bet on guys that i have never heard of, so maybe, just maybe, i will get lucky (the sun shines on a dog's ass at least once in a while i am sure), but i suspect not.

i will be however, be putting 1/2 of all my points on monson. so i may learn a HW lesson too.

today is tuesday, saturday is only 4 days away, when will the betting for 65 open up anyway?
