I am very surprised that herring was fighting for a max of 12k if he won. 3k for Salmon, pfft that won't even cover his medical bill.

Yeah, Heath's payday is kinda surprising considering his experience. I'm thinking he got a signing bonus.

Ok so Nate Marquardt is the highest paid fighter that night, but they don't even show his fight?!?! Also does anybody think Salmon will ever step into the octagon again?

Dean Lister makes less than Ed Herman before bonuses. I just died a little inside. It's a shame how acting like a jerk on national TV has so many rewards. Just ask Omarosa. Or that crazy NY bitch.

There's no way I'd take that kick to the dome that Salmon ate for a measly $3k!!! Sure, he didn't intend to do that, but I'm just sayin'

Most people make **** when they first come to the UFC. Where have you been EVERY time the paydays are posted? Your droning on and on about this one fight is getting pretty annoying. We know you think he was spoonfed, most of us agree, GIVE IT A REST!

Why would anyone fight for those mediocre payouts? Those are absolutely horrible. I wouldn't get my face beat in for a lousy 12grand let alone 3grand.

I think the cash cow is exploiting these fighters.

I'm telling you guys, they're keeping Marquardt tucked away for a title run after the Franklin v. Silva matchup (assuming Lutter doesn't pull the upset). If Franklin wins then they need a new guy to step up and challenge while they build Silva back up. If Silva retains the title then they'll need a new "hot" fighter to promote in that division. Your next "pushed" fighters at 185 are going to be Swick and Marquardt. I'm not sure who they'll push first, but look for those guys to be big in 2007.

That is horrible, after everything Dean has done for the sport and The Tool makes off better. Unfortunately it's a business world and it's all about drawing the "real world" fans, the kind of people that live off of drama and conflict instead of skill and class.

Fan support drives the sport in large part, especially when it comes to what guys make. Tito hasn't done jack in the last 2 years and he's still top 5 in payout. Why? Because fans will pay to watch him fight. For all his skill, Lister is still boring to watch. I love the ground game, but Lister is a grind it out kind of submission guy that even I find a little boring.

I could do without ever seeing Ed Herman again, but a lot of fans like him because of TUF. TUF has drawn in a lot of people who might not otherwise have been big UFC fans and you have to give those fans what they want to see. Hell, the guys who were on TUF know that name and face recognition alone is worth a couple grand no matter where they fight.

dana's said before that the fighters do what they want with their money, they don't have any extra medical stuff.

and holy crap am i glad to see that nate is making more than everyone else there... finally skill > dramatic factors for at least a few payouts :P

Rashad got paid the same amount as Din thomas?! I thought rashad was getting at least $50,000)If he won) to healine this UFN! I guess being on the undercard has no bearing on the payout sometimes!

Herring isn't a 6K+ fighter, even before the UFC.
