What's next for Big Tim?
So i was wondering , anyone think Tims gonna get a rematch quickly ? Or is Dana gonna make him fight his way back up again considering he's not a fan favorite or very marketable ?

No rubber match in this guy's future. It'll be interesting to see if fans start liking him as an underdog.

Yeah I think he will have a looong road ahead of him to get a chance for his belt back. Imo, I don't think Dana will not give him a rematch soon for his belt or should I say as fast as Hughes or Franklin, cause Tim isn't as popular as both of them.

Sure once he starts fighting with some heart. Tim lost his killer instinct IMO and needs to get it back.
Or maybe he was just lucky knocking all those dudes out, who knows.

I hate to say it but I am pretty sure he will have to fight his way back up.

Tim cost the UFC a lot of money (poor showings), I am certain dana will try very hard to keep the belt out of his hands. He's the Larry Homes of UFC, only not as good...

I'm sure he will be given some lower level opponents to start back with. If he can finish them and act like he is in there to win he will have his rematch sooner than later I'm sure, he was champ for quite some time.

I second that. No other way to gain popularity then to have Tim work his way up again. However, dana could just finish him for good and give him Cro Cop after CC gets the belt from randy.

I'm wondering if THe UFC just doesent throw him away. THey lost $$$ on him. SO I wonder if they just call it even and say, No Mas. I mean they did it to Wes Sims after all the Mir controversy. I think THe UFC wants to shy away from The Big Dummy fighter stereotypes and concentrate on real professional athletic fighters.

Whether they like it not, the UFC has to give Tim the rematch... It would also be plain wrong not to do so (plus I'm sure rematch terms are in his contract anyways). In that sense, I hope they give him CC and finish him dearly.

considering how poor his last many showings have been, i really don't think they have to give him anything other than the door if he doesn't impress people with his next fight.

Timmah!!
There's no ammount of training he can do to make him appear to be a technical and intelligent fighter. I do think Tim was a fluke, he came in at the right time at the right size and for a short time that combination allowed him to be successful. The natural evolution of the sport is neverending and just like Tank Abbot, Tim's time in the octogon has come to a close. Look for Tim in your local sports bars talking about suppliments and beating up Couture fans.

I wouldn't be surprised if they stuck Tim on some prelim fights to try and motivate him.

He will be behind the winner of AA-Werdum as well. He's not getting a title shot anytime soon. But as much as some would like to count him out, or say he is unskilled, that's just not true. He is good enough to earn a title shot again. If he gets back his killer instinct, he has a shot of regaining that title as well.

I cannot believe most of you
all of a sudden he is unskilled? lucky finishes? a big dummy? i could just as easily say that about most of you...tim worked hard to get where he is, obviously alot harder than most of yall have worked...imagine what his trainers and othe organization matchmakers must have thought of him and his odd frame
you all seriously sound about as unintelligent and neanderthal has you make him out to be..i mean normally i just wouldnt give a damn but yall are really stepin over the line i think and it seems like the moderators are letting it happen. What a slippery slope this shold become, let us talk about other fighters exactly as yall talk about tim sylvia...imagine that
just because hes not marketable, doesnt make him a big dummy. he lost his title, just like all champions do. he had the title, he won it from Ricco rodriguez and then from andrei arlovski. He came in at the right time, and beat the right opponents to win his belt. yea he may have given some boring fights but hes provided some excitement too.
I wouldnt type this longwinded crap if i wasnt absolutely revolted at the behavior on this forum, freakin terrible display and yall sit here and talk about how bad tim is as a fighter and a person....a person you dont even know...heard everything questionig his heart, his skill, his intelligence, even goig so far as to questioning his sexuality and his appeal to women
is this a forum for adults or are we in 3rd grade recess, point is, Tim will be back and youll still be here posting about him
yea im done

I don’t like the attitude of some of the fans who always like to complain. When they say if you had a quick fight that they wished it was longer and if you have a long fight they say you should have beaten this guy quicker. Some people you just can’t please. If it is so easy, they can put on a glove and do it themselves. I’ll watch them fight.

Yeah, some of you are going a bit overboard with this.
I'm sure he won't get a straight rematch, but he will get to fight top contenders and if he beats 1 or 2 tough guys, he deserves the title shot.
And I'm not so sure about Tim costing the UFC much money. People don't like him, they wanna see him lose.
