Have you ever watched Pride? Jiu-Jitsu is a main art there with the Nog twins, Arona, etc. Mark Coleman and Randelman are wrestlers. I guess you could almost class Jackson as a wrestler. Sambo is big over there with Fedor and his brother. There is no biased opions on style in Pride.

I love the audience there because they get excited when someone attepts a submission. Unlike UFC where they boo when it hits the ground. I love watching good submission wrestlers, especially since taking up BJJ.

I think CT makes a huge point here. The only people who know Tito is a badass are the ones who have been watching for a long time. Long before TUF. Sure he lost a few fights while injured and also he is not the most exciting fighter due to his ground and pound routine but he is a tough MF'er. I have great respect for Dana especially after watching TUF 1 but if this stuff is all true, I am losing dome respect for him. It shoudln't be about egos and drama and all about what is good for the UFC. Erasing Punishment team logos is just queer and Ivan was one of the most exciting guys coming up and even though he disappointed in UFN, he should be given the rest of his contract if only because he is so fun to watch normally.

I think UFC fans are more knowlegeable about the ground game than when is started. Fans might boo if a striker like Chuck is taken down, but they will cheer like crazy for Hughes breaking a submission. I guess it depends on the fighter.

Not really because they boo the hell out of anyone working the ground game, not a take down. They boo Couture all the time because he clinches.

Tito is a little boy trapped in the body of a man. he does have incredible skills and drive. its his attitude towards his opponents and sometimes the fans that make him a target. why should a company like the UFC or Pride want to give a contract to someone who does'nt always get the job done? All Tito had to do was fight Chuck, thats all, and he dodged it. Tito did it to himself and he should blame no one but himself.

that sort of behavior may be fun to watch but it does nothing to enhance the image of the UFC. those actions belong in the WWE. if MMA is ever going to become widely accepted it needs a clean image, like the one Pride has.

Riots after UFC fights is going to add credence to the people who think that that type of programming/events make people violent and it will be banned from TV and more States. Not good.

I agree... the UFC needs to maintain sportsmanship and sports professionalism. The WWE has the market on the circus atmosphere of sports entertainment. There mayhem is the key ingredient. In the UFC it is MMA skills and sports competition. Sure, the UFC can also be sports entertainment, but it needs to maintain professional sportsmanship as the primary goal... and showmanship as a distant secondary goal.

This is key to what happened with Salaverry and Marquardt, as that fight lacked showmanship and people balked at it and booed. In fact, that fight was a good ground skills demonstration between two equally skilled MMA fighters. Greco-Roman wrestling can be that way most of the time, and people still enjoy it... I feel that the Salaverry-Marquardt fight has recieved a lot of BS criticism.

But, by the same token, GR wrestling will never be shown on primetime TV 104 times a year to sell out crowds and millions of TV fans the way that pro-wrestling has been done for decades. I think that the UFC wants the type of attention that the WWE has recieved. Can you imagine a UFC TV event consistantly beating out the ABC-NFL Monday Night Football program (the way that the WWE has done for a decade)? That is what the UFC wants, but what is the price for that?
