Horn just talk?
Do you guys think Horn will really try to stand with Chuck or is he just hypin his fight. he is obviously a pretty smart guy, so i dont think he will stand. its not his strong suit. i dont care what he says about his striking training. i also know this is kinda bumpin a thread. i just thought i would narrow the conversation.

I think he will take it to the ground as fast as possible to be honest. And in all honesty, I don't know why the hell he would even try to stand with Chuck. That would pretty much be changing up his fighting style for one guy, and that usually gets fighters in trouble from what I've seen.
He needs to keep his gameplan and take it to the ground. I think he can win the fight if it's on the ground, but I don't think he will make it out of the first round if he stands with Chuck.
There is a reason Chuck has that light heavyweight title. He has knocked out Ortiz and Couture. That's reason enough for me to take it to the ground.

He'd be crazy to try and stand with Chuck. But, I hope he does. I'd love to see Chuck tatoo him, in typical IceMan style. If Randy Couture can't stand with Chuck, what on earth would make Horn think he can stand with him? I think he's just flapping his gums, but who knows...maybe we'll get lucky and see him get his mouth closed for him.

Horn said he'd try to take it to the ground because that's where he has the advantage, but he'd be in no rush to get there because he can stand with chuck.

I think Horn will go to the ground as well. I watched the first Horn-Liddell match again on FSN, and I have to say that Liddell did well on the ground as well. He just got caught with that reverse naked choke hold. BUT, Chuck did NOT tap-out. He seriously held on and tried to let the ring bell save him from that loss. He passed out as the bell rang. The referee stopped the fight. Horn won due to referee stoppage.
I would love to have seen how that fight might have ended, if Liddell had been able to stand up and go the extra time. But, he was seriously out of it. He was wobbling around for several minutes afterwards...

It is obvious that Horn is talking because he doesn't want Chuck to be expecting him to go to the ground. Although I'm sure he knows it will happen. He knows that Horn will not try and stand with him. Horn is also paid to be saying things like this so everyone gets riled up for the fight. I have a feeling the people expecting first round KO's are going to be disappointed. People who like technical fighters will be impressed with Horn and everyone else who wants to see Chuck KO him will boo everytime he takes Chuck down.

If the above happens Chuck will knock his ass out in the 1st or 2nd round. Horn aint stupid and is a well versed fighter he will be wanting to take this fight to the ground as soon as he can. I can see Chuck catching him with a knee eventually has Chuck may not have the best ground defense but he will know that Horn will wanna take it to the ground and I feel he could be looking for the counter knee perhaps which would lead to a quick KO. Whatever happens I feel sure that the Iceman will get his hand raised in victory

He's Bsing, I Would Be Surpised If He Actually Did. Militech Guys Are To Smart. Its Gonna To Be A Classic Clash Of Styles, But I Dont See Chuck Losing, He's Getting Better Every Fight(i No All Figthers Do) In My Opinion. I Hope Horn Doesnt Win...

i agree that horn will take the fight to ground. he needs to try and get chuck tired. the longer the fight goes the better his chances are to win. he has been working on his conditioning more for this fight then any other fight in his long career (according to him and his trainer). i dont think chuck has had many (if any) recent fights that have gone even to the later part of the second round. if horn can avoid chucks hands, get to the 4th or 5th round, and take him down to the mat i think he has a good chance of winning by submission.
that said, my points are on chuck. i think it will end quickly, but if not it could get interesting.

Chuck is leaps and bounds beyond Forrest though. Chuck shouldn't have too much trouble.
