Yeah I would also like to see Lawler back, especially now being a middleweight, there is no-one like him in that division in the UFC.

Sherk is the champ and he's not in the top 10? I guess he hasn't had many fights at 155.

That is a completely ridiculous situation. And ranking Lambert and not Evans is just as ridiculous. Their ratings have gone seriously downhill since they stopped polling fighters and other people in the business. And who has Lindland beat that makes him #1?
MMA Weekly rankings have lost all credibility AFAIC.

Man, I don't even look at these rankings anymore. They really don't make any sense these days.
They must really like Lambert and Lindland or something...they really don't deserve those spots.
What do you think about Couture's ranking? You think it's right or he deserves to be higher up? Would a #3 spot be too high for him at this point?

I was just about to post the same thing. How could Lambert leapfrog Evans, Jardine and/or Machida?
They really need to state how many staff members participate in their rankings and provide their names. With rankings like this, it makes me believe that it is just a couple of people. Situations like the Lambert ranking would usually get flushed out if multiple people voted.
These rankings are also very uneventful. Their prior rankings were on March 22nd, so other than Lawler/Trigg nothing has changed. (I also believe that listing Trigg tenth is somewhat laughable.)

Their MW rankings are in shambles because they blew Trigg's win over Misaki out of proportion. While i don't agree with Lambert being ranked 10, there is justification for it. Rashad's best win is a pre-top 10 Lambert. Lambert's best win is an at the time top10 Babalu. So when Lambert beats Babalu you give Rashad his top10 spot because he beat Lambert? You can't bitch about MMAth and then use it when it works for you. Is Rashad the real #10, yup. Is he more deserving of that spot? Nope.

You were just complaining about people ranking him as a LW because he hasn't fought at that weight for a while, and now you're doing the same with WW. What weight-class should we be ranking him in? It's ok to be #3 when you're two losses in a row are to #1 and #2. That's how ranking works. It would be nice to see the previous rankings. I think the only changes are to the MW division and Carlos Condit replacing Josh Burkman.

Yeah, Duke just likes to complain about Penn-related stuff too much to make it rational...
Btw agreed about MMAweekly overreacting with the Trigg-Misaki result. Now they've got him and Lawler up there. They are not top 10 middleweights imo.

Evans would destroy Lambert again, and everyone knows it. He'd destroy Babalu too. These lists are not just who beat whom, which explains why they have Lindland, who's never beaten a top 5 MW, ranked #1. Both of those rankings, Lindland and Evans, are causing a ****-storm in the MMA Weekly forum.

I see your point Bomber, and in many ways agree. Lindland may not have beaten a top 5 MW, but among his list of wins are many notable MMA names. I fully agree he shouldn't be ranked #1, and it obviously relies on a lot of speculation. The rankings are not just who beat who, but to gain the right of positive speculation you need to prove yourself against some of the best. Anyone who gets ranked without beating other ranked fighters in that weight-class has done so in other weightclasses.
Rashad has not. It would be all speculation, instead of speculating based on performance against contenders in other weightclasses. That is unacceptable imo. Rashad undoubtedly will earn a place on this list. But just because he has the potential to do so, and has been living up to that potential as of late, does not mean he has earned that spot yet. A win over Tito would do just that. Which we both have said we think will happen. But beating Lambert who went on to beat Babalu does not earn him that spot.
