I hope Chuck moves upto HW

Chuck vs AA
Chuck vs Crocop
Chuck vs Big Nog

The list of fights goes on and it would be good to see how he fairs against different opponents.
I am not disagreeing w/ you as far as some really interesting fights but the bigger guys can and have traditonally been able to take more punishment. I am a big Liddel fan myself but I just cannot see him preventing the take down as well against much bigger guys. Depending on how Jackson fairs agaisnt Chuck I really have him well apart from the rest of the pack in the LHW division, but I am really interested in seeing what compettion the Pride fighters will bring.

IMO: Rampage has the strength and aggression to take chuck down. And I hope this happens because I have been waiting for ages to see Chuck's ground game put to the test.

I think you'll see a first round (and maybe 2nd round) stand up, with both getting their bell rung. From 3rd round on we will see either trying for a take down. And from there it'll go from stand up to ground and back and forth.

If Iceman wins, it's by submission.
If Rampage wins it's by TKO.

This is the very thing I like about Chuck; he stuffs the take down and forces opponents to fight on their feet. There is more than enough fights in the UFC w/ people laying on each other and the guy that is on top wins even if he didnt do anything but be on top. I have no interest in Chuck's ground game, what he does obviously works.

You name a big guy who has a solid chin apart from Fedor.
Arlovski has been KOed a fair amount of times
Couture virtually KOed Tim Sylvia
Crocop has been KOed by Randleman (Chuck has better timing than Randleman in my opinion so im positive Chuck could KO Crocop)

I dont see how traditionally they can take more punishment, I think Chuck has survived more punishment then most HWs. He doesnt really need takedown defense in the HW division either in my opinion, most big guys like standing apart from maybe Big Nog and Fedor who he may have trouble with, all the others I can see Chuck KOing out. If Couture can do it im sure Chuck can.

In all fairness we dont know how well he would do in the HW division so I hope he does move up so everyone can see if he can make it at a heavier weight. (Well his walk around weight most likely)

EDIT: If he does move up a weight class hopefully Bisping can get into a title shot chance for the LHW belt =). Considering the top 2 contenders are Evans and Jardine (who I think should fight each other, then winner gets title shot and loser gets Bisping then winner of that fight gets a title shot).

EDIT to the person below: If Chuck moves up to the HW division, guess what, he isnt staying at 205 lol. Also no it isnt really, punches are based mainly around timing and technique and speed.

You know why so many HW's get KO'd? Because its a lot different taking a punch from a 240+lbs guy then it is a guy that weighs 205

when people try to take chuck down he either stuffs the attempt or makes them eat a shin.
ask babalu how good chuck's takedown defense is.
i'm not saying that babalu is the best at taking guys down, but....

chuck makes people stand with him.

if chuck can beat tito then i think he can beat anyone

Thats the problem people stand with him. It's not that he "makes them" they choose to stand with him. Look at randy I don't remember the second fight but the third one he stood with him and he got knocked out. The Bobalu was just a mess of a fight, he ran out there just hoping for somthing and ate chucks fist. The same with Tito, he stood up in both cases.

Well if Randy couldnt get him down then you have to give Chuck major props on his take down D. I saw the Tito fight and he tried and tried and couldnt get him down. I know Tito and he does not want to stand up and trade w/ anyone but rather take them down lay on top and G&P.

No, Randy tried several times in both fights to get Chuck down, but only managed once in the last fight...and Chuck was back up on his feet. Tito tried too, he just couldn't grab an opening. And, Babalu was just dumb...lol. Chuck's got some of the best takedown defense in the game. That's why when he and Tito were getting ready to mix it up I told everyone that there was no way he was going to win because Randy couldn't get Chuck to the ground.

Rampage has a good chin and will win even with Chuck's K.O. power. How many knees to the head did he take from Wanderlai Silva before he finally went down ?

As most would expect the ref will be BJM in this fight. I like how he gives fighters chances as some refs don't. UFC 71: ‘Big’ John McCarthy to ref Liddell-Jackson at UFC blog for latest news, videos, results, betting odds, fighter interviews and MMA rumors - UFCmania.com

i dont get people that says it's over if page stands with him. isn't rampage a brawler/striker himself? in their first fight didn't page out strike liddel? has anyone noticed that in just about all liddel's recent fights none of the guys were strikers? thus he won because he was able to keep the fight standing against wrestlers. and the other guy brought a point i've been saying. w.silva couldn't even keep page down. he's got a serious chin. plus he won't just fall down like tito. anyone noticed how tito kept falling down and looked like he could have came back and won a decision if he wasn't so afraid. liddel was gassed in that fight.

rampage has a great chin so i think that chuck is really gonna have to pick his spots and not let rampage use the cage...that will be effective for rampage with his strength so look for rampage to go right to the ground and pound like last time....that will be what the gameplan is but you know how rampage is he will try to stand up with chuck but he did it in pride there last fight and it was succesful but well see i guess

While I'm pulling for Chuck, it just seems like Rampage is more focused to win.
