Sherdog is spoiling CroCop-Conzaga on their front page.
If you don't want to be spoiled, don't click on Sherdog. You have no opportunity to choose whether or not you want to open a particular article. Results for all of the main card are right out in the open.
I'm an idiot, but after they did this last time I gave them the benefit of a doubt and figured they'd set it up like MMAweekly, where there's nothing spoiled on the front page.
Grrrr....

I even listened to Beatdown recently where they were responding to the hatemail about spoiling the last PPV. Their position was that they're an MMA news sites, they'll report the news as soon as they know it, and you should only visit the site if you want to know what's happened -- not if you don't.
But damn it all -- MMAweekly is ALSO an MMA news site, and they have no trouble putting a headline on their front page that invites you to click it if you want to know the results. They even warn you -- don't click if you don't want to know the results. Why can't Sherdog do that? How does that contradict their mandate to report the news?

Honestly do they have to be that stupid. Results should of been posted at the absolute soonest 30mintues after the event begins on Spike. Since that way anyone watching it will be already glued to the TV.
...to think I used to like that sherdog....how naive and stupid I was. They have already ruined enough PRIDE events especially for me.
Anyways thanks for the heads up, completely forgot and probably would of checked it.

I think everyone should boycott sherdog, at least during or on the giving day of ppv events. Maybe by realizing that they are fewer hits on their web page, they might stop posting results in their healines.

You have to understand the politics of it.
Sherdog doesen't have an authorized UFC press Pass. They do what the average fan do,
Chase fighters for an interview. ONly Sherdog does it with a bigger camera, so they look official, but they're not in "The Loop"......They catch fighters out of the bathroom, etc...... And pretend its a real interview
Actually UFC fans have it better cause they can get into autograph sesssions, UFC fans DO learn about things before they happen because many UFC fans train in a gym where they're gonna learn about somethin anyway!
Sherdog is pissed that Pride is now part of The UFC. Sherdog is a rabid dog that you just wait for it to come to you type a thing.
What Fight Forum Admins need to prepare for???????
FF is more a site that The UFC would do buisiness with.....
Maybe with an endorsement or two from San Jose CA ...........

You and Kentified (and everyone else that spoiled the fight for themselves) have to feel at least a bit moronic. If you don't want to have a fight spoiled, is it too simple to just not go to any MMA related sites? If you're allergic to cats, don't go to a pet store, you know? I also think this new banned policy for spoiling fights is bananas, man.. just my personal opinion here.

Sherdog does serve a VERY important purpose. All those morons could be posting here instead. I was dead set on not getting it spoiled for me today. No TV, no radio, minimal FF(I just couldn't help myself). Everything was going great until 10 freaking minutes before the event started. My brother calls me and when I answer the first thing out of his mouth was "Crocop just got knocked out!" If UFC 72 is on SpikeTV it needs to be simultaneous nationwide.
Can you divorce your brother?

I believe I called myself an idiot in my first post, just so there's no confusion. But my point is that MMAweekly, which I consider to be Sherdog's peer and main competition for subscription money, has shown that it's very easy to set up fight results so that people can visit your site, watch pre-fight videos, check stats, etc, and choose whether or not they want to know the outcome of the card as it's in progress. Isn't that better than making that impossible so your site is off limits to those people? And if it's so easy, why won't Sherdog do it?
Yesterday was the closest the Fight Forum mods have come to doing the same thing with this site, so members could come, talk about the card, continue to post in off-topic and training & nutrition and even UFC, etc, and not get spoiled. As usual, though, a couple of people still found ways to carelessly let the cat out of the bag.
The results of the current PPV are just one piece of info in a wide variety of MMA-related things to discuss. To match your metaphor about the pet store, if I don't want to eat steak, shouldn't I still be allowed to go to a restaurant, or do I have to accept that by walking in I run the risk of someone shoving steak in my mouth?

Again with the bizarre and unfounded conspiracy theories. Sherdog is NOT pissed that Pride is part of the UFC (if that's even what's occurred, and it doesn't seem to be the case-- Zuffa just owns Pride). Sherdog loves Pride and the UFC, and they're as excited about seeing these dream match-ups that we never thought would happen as anyone.
I also think you're deranged for saying that a fan who trains in a gym has a better chance of finding out inside info about MMA than Sherdog. Trust me -- you don't have the contacts and the access to info that they have.
Yes, there's a little bitterness from the online MMA media that Dana revoked all of their press passes, but that wasn't just Sherdog, it was right across the board. And ultimately, it hasn't changed much for them.

Well, your metaphor doesn't exactly match in that no human being has ever walked into a restaurant and been force fed steak, whereas many a fight fan has stumbled onto Sherdog or Fight Forum and had the results spoiled. But I see your point...it isn't hard for the guys at Sherdog to hide the event results or title them with "Spoiler" in the title. But here at FightForum, or any forum, it's kind of next to impossible to control these thousands of members. Coming to this place after an event you haven't seen is just asking to have it spoiled for you.
Sure we have our other sections and stuff, but it isn't hard to avoid Fight Forum for a day. Imagine if this whole spoiler concept were never recognized as a serious thing...right now if you want to talk about Cro Cop's loss, where do you do it? People are talking about it in several different threads in this forum and several different threads in the spoilers forum. All the talk of UFC 70 is spread out helter skelter. I put my opinions in one thread and right after somebody made a thread for UFC 70 thoughts...it's all confusing now, and the excitement of that night of fighting wore off a bit. We could have been discussing UFC 70 right after it happened, while we were all still excited about it, and we could have had threads for each fight instead of a thread here and a thread there spread out across two separate forums and TICL banned, all just to protect a minority that didn't see the fights yet.
It just doesn't make sense to me.

I think thats pretty lame. Knowing the sport is global they could have waited for the world to turn once to make the big announcment, or in the least not posted it on the home page.
Sherdog blows anyway.
