Ortiz and his usual trash talking
UFCjunkie.com - UFC blog for MMA news, rumors, gossip, fighter interviews and event previews/recaps
Former UFC champion Tito Ortiz will face The Ultimate Fighter 2 light heavyweight winner Rashad Evans at a UFC 73 event on July 7.
Although a recent skirmish between the two fighters at UFC 69 heated up the rivalry, Ortiz just throw a bucket of fuel on the fire with a recent forum posting about his opponent.
In a thread titled “UFC first woman fighter!!!!!!!!!!!” at The Underground Forum, Ortiz stated:
Rashad Evans!!! He will be my Nappy Headed Ho. On 7-7-07…Let The Punishment Begin!!! Tito Ortiz .::Punishment Athletics::.
That term should ring a bell. Don Imus was fired from his national morning radio and TV gig earlier this month when he referred to the women of Rutgers University’s basketball team as “nappy-headed hos.” The team had just won the NCAA women’s basketball championship, and Imus created a firestorm for using a term that’s been criticized as both racist and sexist.
In this case, though, it’s merely a parody, but it’s sure to warrant a response. Both Ortiz and Evans seem to enjoy playing head games before a fight, and with what appears to be a real and bitter rivalry between to the two fighters, this feud has more than two months to simmer and boil over.
The light-heavyweight fight is expected to take place in Sacramento, Calif. The UFC 73 event is also expected to feature title fights of middleweight champion Anderson Silva vs. Nate Marquardt, and Sean Sherk vs. Hermes Franca.

Going to be a good card, and hopefully a great fight between Evans and Ortiz. Plus it will be 2 days before my 21st birthday.

I'm not a fan of Ortiz, but I thought the quote was pretty funny myself.

Lol
I found Don Imus' comments as racist, but I don't think Tito was being racist about this. However it does give Rashad even more reasons to whoop his ass. Tito knows how to bring controversy; it's what he does best, (sometimes even better than fighting ). I doubt he means anything more than just hyping the fight.
I like Tito alot, almost as much as Rashad, but I'm wishing Rashad will win.

I was online last night when he posted this. He posted a couple more times, but it was all trash talk. Usual Tito, just trying to create a "buzz" for the fight.
Someone did ask him who he'd rather face, Wanderlai or Shogun. He said he'd rather face Shogun.

I believe that Evans matches up really well w/ Tito. Forrest could out punch Tito but got taken down 1 too many times. I think Evans is not far behind Forrest at striking if any at all but he is a much better athlete and an excellent wrestler. I can see Evans out doing Tito on the ground and possibly getting some good G&P on Tito maybe even for a stoppage. I really dont see a stoppage though; I feel Evans will out punch Tito and be able to take him to the ground w/ some G&P but mostly just maintain control and win in decision in what will probably be a boring fight.

Tito can say that NHH thing cause he's a minority. So it's ok.

This is true, most won't agree but it is correct.

Yeah, it's his usual (boring) buzz for the fight.
Does anyone take that guy seriously anymore? (Except for MTKrav of course)
Will be sweet to see him shed a few tears after another ownage.
This time at the hands of a TUFfer too.
How embarrassing eh, HBBB/you living legend you?
Can't wait.
*rubs hands together*
Excellent.

I can't wait to see this fight. I hope Rashad beats Tito right out of the 90s that his giant head is currently stuck in. Though I wouldn't put money (or points) on it.

i think that this is just one more case of tito being an ass hole. why is it okay when jacob says this bull****, but when someone else says it, it is a top news story and a man gets fired.
i think that racism in any form is unacceptable, i dont care if its from a minority or anyone else.
i cant wait for rashad to thump the **** outta jacob. the problem is, no matter what happens, jacob will still be jacob, and there is no way to shut him up. aside from krav, he is the only person left on the planet believing his hype (sorry krav, still love ya though!!).
anyway, i think its disgusting.
