TUF 5: Episode 10
"EPISODE 10
Thursday, June 7
10PM ET/PT
With another win over Team Pulver, Team Penn evens the score at 5-5. Joe Lauzon and Gray Maynard have made their way into the semifinals; who will be next?" - ultimatefighter.tv
2 fights in one episode, always something to look forward to.
Manny vs Wiman: Gotta go with Wiman here although it should be competitive.
Diaz vs Hill: Hill is in for it, round 1 sub win for Diaz is my prediction.
If my predictions hold true, that would be Maynard, Lauzon, Diaz and Wiman in the semis... I wonder who would fight who in that scenario, but I'm sure they will avoid having Lauzon and Diaz fighting in the semis.

TUF 5: Episode 10
So now we're at the last 2 quarter finals, this should be pretty fly with 2 good fights in one episode.
Now, I really think Wiman is going to be able to take down Manny and keep him there, but as much as I like Matt, a part of me hopes that Manny wins just so Pulver has 2 fighters in the semis (especially if Nate is sort of half switching teams)
It's also pretty cool to see Bj working Nate a little bit, I understand his woes with not wanting to spar with someone he's about to fight, even if his team turns his back on him afterwards, but that could easily be the editing.
My picks: Nate and Wiman
edit-> crap, snow patrol always ninja's these threads days ahead, he's done more so therefore, I think mine should stay up :P

Yeah I wonder how Nate was even allowed to switch teams, considering brandon wanted to do it but Jens wouldn't let him. Maybe Nate just does it without telling his team and that's why they are mad?
I understand Nate's point of view though, how can you implement a game plan or add some new moves you might want to try out for the fight, when your opponent is in the same gym with you or maybe even sparring with you!
I say Nate and Matt win, and please Dana set it up so Joe and Nate can be the final, if Joe fights Nate in the semi-finals I will be real mad!

I'm sure that if/when Nate wins, he will fight Joe in the semi.
Dana wants at least one of those guys in the final, and if Maynard and Wiman/Manny would fight them in the semi and drop them both, Dana would cry.

If Joe and Nate would both lose in the semi's then they didn't deserve to make the finals, but I don't see him ruining what would be the best final just so 1 would definately make it.

I'm excited for the upcoming episode. I would have done the same thing myself if I was in nate's shoes. Once the weaker fighters were eliminated the show really got a lot better imo.

Corey Hill was made out to be some badass who would win, but he is very unimpressive, but with more experience he could become a threat

I don't know, I just found it on the web and stole it from a member on another board. She probably has a buttah face.

I think those big long limbs are going to give him major major trouble when fighting a BJJ guy like Nate, my guess is after Corey sticks him with a bunch of jabs Nate will take it down and it won't last so long. Now Manny and Wiman will be a little harder to predict, but either way should be a good one

I think Nate will handle Hill easily enough. Im pulling for manny against wiman, i'd like it to be 2v2 in the semifinals.

I want it to be 3 Penn, 1 Pulver in the semi-finals, just for Subgenius.

penn looks like a good coach from just the few clips they show. I like how he also does a hands on approach and mixes it up with his team. They really don't show them doing much conditioning though. lol

I liked both those fights... Corey went after Nate and did far better than I expected him to do in that fight. I had picked Wiman but Manny is such a scrambler, wow! He overcame the size difference by his agressiveness and scrambling ability on the ground. It seemed Wiman was just trying to keep up the whole fight, I wonder how much the cut affected his vision.
What did Corey say, something about being compared to the shortest basketball player? lol
Anyway, if they do indeed go with team mates in the semis... my picks would be Lauzon by sub in the second round and Manny by decision (tough one to pick for me). Looking forward to it.

I'm happy. Both the guys I wanted to win did.
I'd like to see Lauzon vs Diaz as the finale.

If that were to pan out, my pick would be Lauzon. These are some competitive matchups in the semis so I wouldn't be surprised if one of Lauzon or Diaz didn't make the finale though.

I was very disappointed with Wiman in that fight. He's 5 inches taller, with I don't know how much reach advantage, and he's fighting a grappler. STOP LOCKING UP WITH HIM! That was a dumb game plan. Even when they did stand and fight, Wiman didn't throw enough and was ducking his head. He looked a lot better than that when he fought Fisher. I don't know what he was doing in there tonight.
Props to Manny, he really goes for it all the time.
