The heat is off for Jared Rollins, aka J-Rock, aka the fighter with the Mr. T-Mohawk counterbalanced by a childlike and gentle voice. Rollins is now a household name to MMA fans, but since the sixth season of “The Ultimate Fighter” began airing in September, Rollins had been under assault.
“People were hitting me up like they know me and asking me what happened on the show,” he said. “When I said I couldn’t tell them, they’d look at me like I was crazy. It was bad. Literally. They didn’t understand that I was bound by contract. If I said anything there would be severe penalties.
“I think [Zuffa and Spike TV] would cut off my hands and feet. It’s something terrible.”
His fight episode aired on Halloween. Rollins lost to George Sotiropoulos via referee stoppage.
“It sucks that I lost,” Rollins laughed. “People will say, ‘You were holding out for THAT?’”
