TUF 7 to be revamped
During the 'Major Announcement' at the end of the TUF 6 Finale, Dana White confirmed that Forrest will be a coach and that the show format will be revamped to make it new and exciting.
My question to you, fellow FF members, is what would YOU do to change TUF to be more interesting.
1. I would have two fights per week. This would allow for an A pool and B pool - so if you do have a bad fight or get caught you have a chance at redemption. The two fights would also allow for less of the boring house stuff.
2. I would post 'webisodes' of the TUF show on the UFC / Spike website, or have another maybe 30 minute show that would show some of the house drama that goes on for those that are interested in more of this part of the show.

How about a short bio concerning the fighter's life outside of the house. Can't TUF pay for some production of the fighter's life, where he trains and with whom, and etc.

That would be great, some background on each fighter would be very good.

Yeah the short order work they give to each fighter isn't significant enough. Less top-shelfing in the toilets and getting drunk, and more bio work that explains why we should be invested in these fighters and like them.

Good idea
Also don't put a ringer in there and have him on camera every single week. We'd like to see how things unfold on our own.

I didn't like the challenges personally, it was pretty amazing no one got hurt and couldn't fight with some of those season 1 challenges they had.
I really saw that Dana despised the team concept and I think these guys will rotate coaches this season, no more team concept.
That is just a feeling, and I actually would not like that change, but it wouldn't surprise me if it happened.

The challenges were used in season 1. IF the team could carry a stack of logs to the finish line--as an example--before the other team, the winning team could pick the match. It did show personality, but it seemed too disingenuous. And when I watch reality tv, it's all about reality

Yeah, I think they discontinued challenges after TUF 1 and focused more on drama of the more pedestrian sort.

I think I remember them showing bios and talking about the two fighters that would be fighting that night on either Tuf 1 or Tuf 2.

Not a big fan of some of the challenges...like pulling the socks off one another while scurrying around on the octagon mat. That was...well let's just say that wasn't a very macho challenge.

ROFL that sounds hillarious, trying to picture it. I wish I started watching TUF in previous seasons.

Okay here is an idea. How about less calculated marketing on the fighters? As in, a level playing field? Seems like more times the show is a promo for the UFC on their 3 or 4 guys. They are put in a can't lose proposition, and they milk the airtime. It's a bit painful and I feel like a pawn actually. They can find somewhat level fighters, but the early fights with my above scenario are a total joke. So for me, a more competitive mix of fighters is key.

Actually I think they had they challenges in TUF 2 also. Remember Gurgel throwing a fit when franklin forfeited a challenge because Stevenson did like 200 rotations on Whitehead?
And of course the rock'em, sock'em challenge with the socks LOL

Yea I am really tired of watching a bunch of kids confined to a house with no communication to the outside world. All they do is irratate each other and get drunk, destroy the house.
Alot of the kids get a shot in the UFC even if they don't win so why not make it into more a documentry about the fighters. My guess is a lot of them have pretty interesting backgrounds

I think more guest coaches was cool. Just to see how the fighters interact with different philosophy's. Like when Chuck came in there as a guest the season he didnt coach, and taught them the looping punch and the guys were looking at him with this WTF look on their face.

The twist is going to be the return of Charles McCarthy as a guest coach!
