He was the guy you wanted to root for — the tough-as-nails fighter who jumped at a second opportunity when no one else would, and even when getting punched in the face, he was smiling ear to ear. Fighting in the UFC just meant that much to him.

Unfortunately for “The Ultimate Fighter 6” semifinalist John Kolosci (8-5 MMA, 0-1 UFC), the passion and determination just weren’t enough.

After a first-round submission loss to Matt Arroyo at the show’s live finale, Kolosci had a conversation with UFC Vice President of Talent Relations Joe Silva. The end result was a ticket out of the UFC and into the smaller fight promotions.

I really don't think he has the skills to make it in the UFC. He was absolutely tooled by Mac twice and subbed in the first by Arroyo. It's not like he is young either, he seems like a nice guy but he is not fit for the big leagues.

He was a good guy. But needs to get himself in better shape to compete at the UFC. Smaller organisations are great for that. And if he does well there. He will be back.!
