TUF 7: Episode 5
Betting is still open for this
vBookie Event - TUF 7 Winner - Click Here To Place Bets
"This event will accept bets until 04-30-2008 at 10:00 PM"
This week, maybe all the guys not in the cage can shut up a little so the guys who are actually fighting will be able to hear the coaches. I doubt it but it's just a thought.
Tonight...
Rampage loses it.
Bisping shows up.
Conflict between Matt Brown & Jeremy May. Why you ask? The dope put lime juice in his dip.

Irony: Forrest agreeing with that Dante won that fight by controlling the fight with takedowns. And disagreeing that HE lost the fight against Tito since he did more damage, while Tito controlled the fight with takedown after takedown.

Actually, Forrest did not complain about the result with Tito, he was just upset that he thought he won the second round. And in the third round Tito had one takedown, the rest of the round was controlled by Forrest.

Wow, Dante could very well be the most boring TUF fighter. Boring on the ground (LnP), boring on his feet (SnP). Yawn.
At least Brandon was trying to make it a good fight. He did pretty okay with the knees and kept throwing those elbows from the bottom.
Dante did control the fight but it's too bad they didn't give Brandon the win.

Most of the time I would agree with Forrest, in a virtual stalemate the controlling fighter should get the nod. Not in that case though. I agree with Team Rmapage, and I agree with Dana, Dante stalled and got a boring decision. Also Mazzagatti strikes again with a "stop" then allows the fight to continue when Dante got the takedown, clearly after the "stop" order. Fights like that are frusurating to no end.

Poor fight. This was not much above two 12 year olds fighting in a fenced in back yard. Either fighter from last week would have absolutely tooled either of the guys who fought this week. And same thing for both guys from 2 weeks ago. They would have dogged either guy from this week. I was appalled at how pathetic both guys standup looked, and their ground games weren't much better. No way either of these guys wins the show.
Frankly, I think a 4th round was called for. I scored the 1st round for Mohawk, the 2nd round for Nohawk, and the third round was a draw. So, we needed a fourth round..... But it would have been just as boring.
I will give both guys a little respect for having their cardio up though.
Now, who will win the grudge match next week?? Sounds like it's gonna be a short fight since there will be 2 prelims.

Rampage looked happy when they said the two preliminarys in one show, that would lead you to believe that Jeremy May pulled it off against Matt Brown, either way I can't wait for that fight

Jeremy's hands looked sharp in the "next weeks previews" part at the end. Damn sharp.
I forgot to mention...... MoHawk passed up at least 2 STELLAR openings for a Kimura.... And NoHawk passed on about 5 chances to get an easy full mount in Rd. 3.... Pitiful... Just pitiful....

I'm surprised there was a third round. Watching Dante hug for the first 3 minutes of both rounds while mounting zero offense was brutal.

A poor fight indeed. I was, again, really hoping Rampage would get control, and I also think his guy should have won.
But that was not a good performance by him either. He should have let his hands go when they were standing too. He let the gassed Dante clinch and push him against the cage too easily every time.

But they need to pick a winner in every round. Winner gets 10, loser 9 or less.
And imo that fight was exactly the kind of fight I don't wanna see another round of.

I think the heel hook-attempt at the end of the first round gave that round to Dante. He got a couple takedowns (of which the second one had a bit of "air time"), Mohawk was busy from the bottom, but Dante passing and trying the submission turned it in his favour.

Terrible fight. The mohawk dude should have gotten the win for pushing the pace and landing shots. Enough about that though.... there have been worse decisions.
On a side note Rampage almost made me piss my pants when he flipped out and started screaming. His name Rampage suits him very well i would say...

Yeah I noticed that too.
On that note, I see Dante Rivera is the new Rashad Evans.
They lay and pray. Eeek out a win. Boring Boring Boring fighter. There is nothing that Dante displayed last night that says to me he's all that.

Again, Forrest DID NOT disagree with Tito getting that win.
Also, interesting how you label Dante as the new Rashad instead of, say, the new Tito.
Furthermore, I think it's clear that Dante doesn't have the wrestling to become a successful LnP-fighter.

I think we got a glimpse of the old Rampage (before he found God) at the end of that episode. When the camera walked into his locker room after the fight and he charged towards his trainer screaming "WHY DID THEY GIVE IT TO THE OTHER GUY?!?!?!" even I got scared in my own living room. The reaction of his trainer said it all. You could tell he's dealt with Rampage for a long long time. He just kept his cool, didn't back down, looked him right straight into the eyes and said "He stalled man, he stalled." That right there was real, and it was scary to see someone that could so easily crush any other person in the room lose his temper so badly. 'Page kept it in check though and didn't completely fly off the handle. And he was definitely justified in being so angry. That was a poor, poor decision in that fight.
