Default Better Coach of TUF3: Tito or Ken?

So far Tito Ortiz has impressed me by:

#1: Acting fairly mature in his attitude on the show. I was expecting the cocky, white-trash, scumbag tito of the old days. On the show Tito has a more "professional" attitude. Sometimes its hard to believe i'm watching the same guy.

#2: Tito seems to be taking to the coaching role quite well. He not only seems genuinly interested in helping his guys train right and working with them every step of the way, but also looks to be doing a much better job than Ken.

Shamrock on the other hand seems to be the Rich Franklin of this season- A great fighter by his own right, but does'ent quite know how to put others through training.

Rich franklin and Ken Shamrock: Proof that being a great fighter does not necessarily mean you'll make a good *coach/teacher* as well.

So what do you think of their coaching so far?

Well if I was on the show I'd much rather be on Tito's team. I've always hated Tito but it's obvisous from teh show that is a better coach and that he really cares about his team and how well they do. Ken on the other hand is so wrapped up in this whole "disrepect thing" that he lets it control his whole life. For god sake if I hear Ken say he's disrespected one more time I'm gonna throw a brick at my TV. Ken's blood pressure must be through the roof.

For what it's worth I think Franklin was a better coach than Ken so far.

Tito is definately the better coach, when Team Shamrock won the 1st fight i thought maybe Ken's way of coaching isn't that bad, but after seeing Tito's team win the last 2 fights you can see that Ken is not a good coach.

    1) Ken doesn't even have a submission guy on his team!

    2) I understand giving guys the day off, but for Ken to give them the day off, then take them golfing and we have only seen 3 episodes so far, that shows Shomrock is doing this ONLY to fight Tito and not taking this too seriously!

    3) For Tito those kids are his team right now, I like how he calls them Team, Punishment, just like his real training team, I don't hear Ken calling his team The Lion's Den(Not that any of those crybabies could cut it with the real Lions Den!)

    4) I think Tito's team will dominate Ken's team. I see Ed Herman making the Semi's from Ken's team for sure but after that, I don't know about anyone else!

Tito so far by a long shot, and I can't stand him. I expected much more from Ken. This makes me wonder who really runs the Lions Den? Crazy bother Frank? Kens seems to be like, well, they made it here so I'll just let them do what they already know how to do! Tito seems to be trying to improve everyone on his team from where they already are, which is kinda the point!

In addition, Ken has no problems telling his guys what they "suck at" like Solomon and Ross, but did not take it to the next level...which would be "ok you guys suck at take downs and submissions, so work on this this and that."

Ken comes off like a complete moron on this show. He's not showing any heart for his team and his coaching methods are questionable. He's not diverse enough as a coach to effectively motivate and actually train his guys.

Tito looks like he's having a great time...I didn't agree with having Inhoffer train hard the night before his fight but other than that, nuff respect to Tito.

I agree with everyone, and I'm afraid that this show isn't going to do much good for the public perception of Ken Shamrock. If anything, he's going to LOSE some fans.

i agree with everyone. I thought Ken would have been the better coach but after seeing the last 2 episodes....tito is doing much better and his attitude is surprising me.

Tito is Mexican, how could he possibly be white trash? White implies that a person is ya know... white.

Man I hate saying this sooooo much but I think tito is by far the better coach. You can tell that tito is putting his heart into his players and ken walks around with this attitude that I am better than you. I was totally shocked that ken is this type of coach I was thinking he was going to be really good and have a lot of knowledge but man he is a weak ass coach and you can tell that his players are losing respect for him week by week.

I can understand why people are mostly siding with Tito here, but keep in mind that we are only seeing what they want us to see.

Yep. A very good point. Ask anyone who's been on a reality show, and they'll tell you there isn't a whole lot of reality on it. People get put into situations for the purpose of the show, they get encouraged to say and do stuff, and they often have to do multiple takes of something until the director gets what he wants.

It happens on TUF as well. Rich Franklin was saying in an interview that something would happen spontaneously, an argument or a heart-to-heart discussion, and then the director would make them move to a better location in the house and do it over again.

    Ick.

It'd be funny if 2 fighters get into a fight in the house and the producer of the show says "Let's have those punches thrown again in this room, there are more microphones" LOL

Or in Tuf1 if Chris Leben tottally lost it and started pummeling Koscheck.

Cameraguy: "Ok now can you guys do that all over again, but this time over there. The lighting is soooo much better!"

    A beaten&bruised Koscheck: "Noooooooo!!!!"

For Ken: Whats the 10 in "26-10-2" stand for? Losses or draws?

I thought the left number was wins, middle number draws, and right number losses.
