Maybe a combination of both? The shock of realizing that MMA is a lot more painful and dangerous than wrestling, and the emotional hurt from being rejected by his team mates.

I can't discount the emotional aspects of the way Matt is being treated as the show unfolds, but he is getting a lot of props from the coaches, so that's an emotional plus (and yet it's part of the reason his team is picking on him.)

I'm so looking forward to seeing how they'll be matched up. I think we're headed for a Mike vs. Matt finale. But Matt better go to the ground in his next fight, because he's no boxer.

I agree. I think that Matt will fight Mike at the Finale. That is, if he makes it that far. I expect Mike to win it over Matt, which would be BIG for Mike as a winner on TUF and as a UFC starting match. I would even go so far as to predict that Mike will most likely KO Matt.

I could believe that. The way Matt carries his hands low when he's standing, he'll be wide open for a head shot against a good striker.

He'd best be ready to go to the ground in his next fights. Even Jesse would be a threat if Matt decides he wants to stand up again. If he boxes with either Mike or Josh, he's dead meat.

Bisping is a fantastic fighter and i think the match he won didnt prove it, if he fights any of the guys left in the group he will walk it, i agree matt is a superb wrestler, but he didnt want to take the other mike down as he may get submitted, he has gnp but against someone with submission he is either to scared or to inexperienced, bisping has heavey hands and matt exposes his jaw to frequently, the corner communication is sadly a major issue, with the other fighter reciveing a walkthrough it is easier to defend against his predictable style, you will see the next fighter vs Matt throwing heavy knees and high kicks, matt drops his head and exposes his chin to middle hieght shots. Bisping i have no doubt having trained with matt will be aware of this, we are lookin forward to a final, but guys you know the fight game, it might not be so obvious

I also think interpersonal relations get even more screwed up because these guys are never out of each other's presence 24-7 and it wears you down psychologically. I played in a band for years and we'd be on tour for two or three weeks at a time. After all that time being away from home and never away from the other guys, every little thing about them started to bug you. The way they hold their coffee cup. The shape of their ears.

So I can partially excuse Matt for coming off like a dick -- the "Whooooo!" thing is pretty annoying, as is insisting that other people cook all your food for you, as is strutting around calling yourself the king, which I know he apologized for, as is always being too rough in practice. But I can also excuse the guys for getting fed up with him and talking trash about him behind his back and wanting to give him a little of his own medicine at the gym. They were frustrated and under extreme circumstances.

I gotta be honest with ya, that whole "Whoooo'ing" thing cracked my ass up. I thought it was hilarious.

Ric Flair strikes again. His "whoooooooo" has become a cultural icon. Matt was pretty funny though when he was doing that. I was laughing...
