Default TUF - Season 3 - Episode 10

Does anyone know if it's one fight tonight or two. How do you think they will make the semis draw, by asking the fighters like last time, at random, or what?

I would imagine it's only one fight, and I haven't heard yet how it's getting decided. But I'm HOPING that the teams are being dissolved now that we're in the semis and it's every man for himself.

Edited to add: Just got this info. Maybe people already knew it.

In order to allow for more time to promote the live season finale of The Ultimate Fighter 3, Spike TV has made the decision to air the final two episodes of TUF 3's regular season next Thursday, June 15th.

As a result, there will be no new episode of the series debuting on Thursday, June 22nd as previously scheduled.

The complete schedule breakdown is that the Spike TV line-up tonight, June 8th, will feature one new episode of TUF 3 in its normal timeslot (10:00 PM to 11:00 PM), as the semi-finals get underway.

Next Thursday, June 15th, two new episodes of TUF 3 will air back-to-back from 10:00 PM to 12:00 AM. At that point, all of the semi-final fights will have aired, thus revealing the participants in the middleweight and light heavyweight finals (which will air live on June 24th).

If the episodes aired on a normal schedule without doubling up next week, the full line-up for the June 24th finals could not be revealed to the television viewing public until Thursday, June 22nd, which would only leave two days to promote the season finale in TV commercials.

The season finale of TUF will air live on Spike TV on Saturday, June 24th from 9:00 PM to 12:00 AM.

I think there'll still be a fight. One tonight, two next week (over two episodes), then a week with no episode but a lot of commercials, and then the live finals.

LOL -- And I really expected Ken to hand out some cash to his boys, but nope. He walked out the f**kin' door.

So with the 205 matchups as they are, I've got Bisping to beat Josh in the finals. Let's see what they say about the middleweights now...

LOL.... Ortiz got HUSTLED!!

Ken came out acting like he didn't know how to play, and totally ran the tables, lol - that was the most entertaining part of that.

Also crazy to see all those guys saying they didn't want to fight. That's just crazy. I couldn't believe that is the way they responded to getting the chance to fight again, and a shot at the six figure contract - Wow.

I wonder if those people saying no to fights and all the 'mental weakness' that happened, made Dana do the switcheroo and the whole new 'comeback vs. newcomers' in TUF4...

Ken Shamrock totally owned Tito Ortiz in that pool game. That was a serious hustle. I wonder, if Dana White knew Ken could throw some billiards around like that. He ran the table. $10,000? Man, that is some serious cutter, me brother.

WTH happened in the office just before they brought in Ross and asked him to fight? I picked a bad time to go to the restroom. When I came back, I saw Dana, Tito, and Ken being dissappointed as someone walked out, then they brought in Ross. What happened?

BTW, Ross being back and matched up against Mike Besping is really cool, IMO. However, bringing back all the losers and putting them back in the house was NOT a great idea. I would not mind them being in the gym training scenes, but NOT back in the house. Mike and Rory (I think it was him) were right to be pissed off. I would be as well.

First they brought back Tait and asked him if he wanted to fight
- He flat out said no. His rationale was that he was on a 'downer' and was not mentally ready to fight in 2 days. He said that there's a high that you get and a buildup to when you fight someone, and then when its over, you come down (like a drug ed. my observation) and he was on the down.

They brought Kristian in and asked him if he wanted to fight
- He was umming and unsure and finally said he wasn't ready to fight and didn't want to fight. He thought he was out of shape and didn't want to lose on TV again - Ken made the comment that he respects him as a person, but said he is NOT a fighter (not directly at him, as an aside).

So they brought Ross back and he said absolutely, so he's back up to LHW which is what he's used to and his natural division. His first MW fight was against Kendall on the show.

Not that Kristian and Tate have the talent but I'm sure Dana would never invite them back to fight after that refusal. I was pretty surprised at their quick answers also - especially Tate's.

Honestly, I think I would've like to have seen Josh vs. Ross because they are both sluggers and you KNOW that fight would be a pure brawl.

Ah, I see. That does suck. I think Tait and Kristian made possibly true points (based on what you said), but at the same time this is TUF -- not some little girls school. The big contract is on the line. I would NOT turn down the opportunity. If I lost, and was given the chance to return for the semi-finals (possibly leading to the finals), then I would say the exact same thing Ross said. No matter how emotional or out of shape. It's a second damn chance! Yeah, the more I think about it, Tait and Kristian are wussies...

Are semi-final fights automatically 3 rounds? Or did they cut out that tie so that they could get to the 3rd round quickly?

And uh oh... Kalib is hurt with a cracked rib... this doesn't look good. ****, Kalib is my guy!

I love it how Ken still stands to his guys and doesnīt talk bad about them, even though they are dropping like flies against Titoīs team. Rory against Ed next week. Canīt wait to see Ed get thrown out.

Kalib went down to a cracked rib. Kendal showed that he can bang out some nice kicks, especially those body shots. Ken Shamrock did not seem convinced that Kailb was all that hurt. Kalib's ribs did not look broke, but sometimes stuff like that does not show up right away.

Damn... damn. I think Kalib would have won that fight - should have one that fight in fact. I can't believe he's not in the final :O That sucks because it was a good fight up until that point.

I didn't think it was tied after two rounds though, I thought that Kalib definitely won the first round and edged out the second, but not tied at least not in my opinion.

EDIT: Yeah, those kicks and knees from Kendall were crisp. They were very effective and you could tell they were doing damage just by the way they sounded.

Oh yeah, also doing x-rays on ribs is next to pointless because the image is obscured by the fact that the rib wraps around, so you get the back ribs super-imposed on front ribs - its almost always hard to tell if ribs are cracked, broken, or bruised except by touching them - and then all you can really do is wear a tensive wrap and let them heal.

Disapointing. Both Kalib and Matt left due to injuries. IMO I saw Kalib win round 1 and round 2 could of gone either way. Well I'm sure we will see Kalib and Matt on the undercard of an UFN
