Ed vs Kendall
Wow. 2 contracts, thank you Dana White. That was a beautiful fight. Beautiful escapes, great offensive and defense. Very impressive....I think they both deserved contracts as well. Thoughts?

I thought it was a draw.Kendall was locking in some submissions, but Ed was taking him down all over the place.Over all it was a very good fight.

I hate to trivialize the point of winning but that was a darn close fight. I really wanted Kendall to win so I'll have to watch the fight again when I'm more calm and unbiased.

I had Ed 29-28 but I'm not upset with Kendall winning. It was a great, close fight. Either guy couldve won.

I'm glad Kendal won. I thought that Ed was a Tool. I really hated him on TUF3. But, he won me over with that performance. I have to say that Ed made that fight one for the records -- maybe fight of the year. It was NOT dissapointing. I was actually glad that Dana White gave Ed Herman the six-figure contract. Ed deserved it. I will have to stop calling Ed a Tool. He is now Short Fuse to me from now on.

I was really impressed with Kendall. Ed is a decent fighter, but he still annoys the hell out of me.

I don't agree with the decision, but I'm not going to argue it either...if that makes any sense. I had Ed winning. I thought he owned round one and did more to win the fight in the other two rounds, but it was extremely close. Maybe Ed will stop trying to act like Billy Bad Ass, now, and get down to fighting. I think both of these guys are going to make a huge impact on the MW division in time. Good Fight.

I didn't really like Ed too much in TUF but he's a good fighter, that's obvious now. That was a great fight, very close. BUT, I think Ed won. I agree with Rogan, I think I saw Kendall trying to tap, but the ref didn't see. What do you think?

I thought Ed was in total control the entire first round. I was a bit surprised to see him lose to the judges.

yep, I agree. And, I didn't think Kendall did anything more or better than Ed, to win the fight, in the last two rounds either. But, still, it was super close, and depending on your vantage point...I guess, it could've gone either way. Once again, another perfect opportunity to use the overtime round. At least, they both got contracts.

Ed won all three rounds (2nd maybe a tie, MAYBE)! All Kendall did was 4-5 knees to the stomach, and acouple punches to the face. Ed had so much more contact with his punches, also almost closed so many sumbissions. I don't recall Kendall somewhat getting one except in the 2nd at the last 8 seconds. The reason Kendall won is because he's a "better person", the UFC just wanted a better story for the press. GO HAWAII, yeah right! Also Kendall teaches classes where he lives, it's just a better story. When they said Ed gets a three figure contract also, he came to the cage, you see his face? HE KNEW HE GOT ROBBED. I love UFC more than any sport, I just hope that the UFC doesn't become like WCW, and have a story line for the whole thing. ROCK ON ED, YOU DESERVED YOUR CONTRACT, YOU COCKY ARROGANT MF!

I don't agree with that at all. Ed did not win all three rounds. He definately won the first round but he gassed so early that most of the stuff he was doing in the last two rounds had far less substanance behind it. Ed did act like a prick when he was offered the deal. He actred like he was totally robbed when in fact it was s super close fight. I would've loved to see the fight go that one last round.
Overall it was a great fight with lots of twists and turns. I think the est thing they could've done was call it a draw but it was so close that it coul've went either way. Certainly not complete domination on either fighters part.

Yeah, Bonnar definately took his loss to Griffin with more grace than Ed did against Kendal. But, Ed lost. It is not easy to lose. Ed took the first round, and as noted, he gassed out in the second and third. Tito, it seems, is also a better coach that Randy Coulture as well as a better coach than Shamrock. Ed did not have the conditioning that Kendal clearly had in that match. What won that match for Kendal was that RNC attempt that was cut off by the end of the third round. A few more seconds and Ed would have passed out or tapped out...

What was even more telling to me was the look on Kendall's face as they were waiting for the decision. He looked like the guy who lost the fight. His head was hanging down, he eyes on the floor. When they announced that the judges were unanimous, he looked quite depressed. Even after they announced the decision, he didn't show the joy you'd expect if he thought he should have won.
He definitely had Ed at the end though. That choke was locked in, Ed was on his way out.
Kudos to Dana for the double contracts. He can't control the judging, but that is one great consolation prize. Ed's going to be head-hunting from now on.

That was a fantastic fight, and I think Ed while being disappointed as hel still showed class and respect when given a moment to speak, so he earned all kinds of respect from me.

Ed should have won that fight. Kendall won the popularity contest, not the fight.

I think it was super tough to call. Sherdog scored it as a draw, and I can't disagree. I was shocked that it wasn't a split decision and that none of the judges had it for Ed.
I was thinking by Kendall's expression and body language (as well as his comments) that he was a bit embarrassed that such a close fight was a unanimous decision for him. He was probably preparing himself for Ed to win it.

What about the tap? Didn't you guys see Kendall trying to tap, but the ref missed it? Then he slipped out of that leg lock.

I cant believe more people didnt notice that. He like definitely tapped lol. I was NOT happy with the decision either.
It was a very close fight but I gave the edge to Ed 80% of the time. Kendall did have some good knees and whatnot but Ed was defiintely more dominant and took Kendall down like 7x, and had a better ground and pound. I had Ed winning 29-28. I was SHOCKED when he didnt win. I didnt care who won btw.
