Another Season of TUF in the Books
Now that The Ultimate Fighter Season 3 is complete, which season was the best in your opinion? Groves vs Herman was a great finale for season 3, but I don't know if it topped Griffen vs Bonnar.
Season 1 - Couture vs. Liddell
Season 2 - Huges vs. Franklin
Season 3 - Ortiz vs. Shamrock

hmm i can't decide....I liked season one wth Kosh, Diego, Firrest, Stephan. They had pretty good finals and i liked the coaches.
But i also liked season 3 with Kendall, Ed, Kalib, Matt, Bisping aka GOD, and pissing on head gears and TIto and Ken Fighting.
Season 3 is my vote

TUF3 season was the worst possible TUF they could have made. It had nothing worth anything outside of a few fights and a few fighters: Matt Hamill, Mike Bisping, and maybe one other fighter. The high school soap opera nonesense was nausiating and sickening. The Finale for TUF3 was the only saving grace of the entire season. IMO, TUF2 was the best season, and had the best coaches, with TUF1 coming in close second. TUF3 season was not even worthy of being mentioned with TUF1 and TUF2.

I really enjoyed TUF3. I made a point of being home every Thursday to see it, and at the moment there isn't a single other show on television that I care about that way. I thought there were a bunch of interesting and diverse personalities on the show, and it was surprising to me that I ended up switching my opinions of Tito and Shamrock.
I had a hard time picking my favourite out of TUF1 and TUF3, but I ended up going with the first one because it was the original (the first season of any reality show is usually the best, because after that you see patterns and a formula and the contestants come in knowing what to expect) and I think the fighters and situations were just a little bit more interesting. But it was a close call.
Don't even talk to me about TUF2. Most of the fighters were boring, the HW matchups were lazy and plodding, I felt like most of Couture's challenges just didn't work out the way he hoped, and by about episode six I couldn't be bothered to watch any more.
Bring on The Comeback, and then I'm praying for lightweights in TUF5!

If it wasn't for all the bad HW fights in TUF 2 that one would have been my fav, but TUF 3 had alot more to it I think.
But I would think that a professional wrestling fan would have found the 'high school soap opera' aspect of TUF 3 to their appeal. Considering that both of the coaches were former pro wrestlers at one time or another and pro wrestling is only a soap opera.

When I want pro-wrestling, I watch pro-wrestling. This is MMA. This was TUF. They took away everything that made TUF good and turned it into something that was just unworthy of MMA. I hope that you are not now saying that you want MMA to become pro-wrestling? I mean, is that what you really want?
They maipulated every episode into an Ortiz-Shamrock hype machine for their own fight. They had some lousy fights just like TUF1 and TUF2 did, BUT each season also had some good fights. The fights are ALL that made me watch the show. And, Bisping and Matt Hamill are the only two fighters that showed any real class...
I could care less about peeing on training equipment or whiping butts with training equipment. I thought the house scenes were all completely useless and puerile. They eliminated the challenges, which were important for showing the level of training these guys went through. And, they shorted us on seeing the training. They made it look like Tito was a god while Ken was a bad coach. It was just all edited for the hype. All flash and no substance.
I will watch TUF again, but I will DVR it and fastforward to the fights.
I will ignore the rest as useless information -- TV tripe, rubbish.
