Default Pete Spratt

I really like the guy and have always enjoyed his fights in the UFC. But I don't see how someone gets tapped from a top guillotine in this day and age unless you simply are that inept on the ground. I mean he knows his weakness is on the ground, and you're in TUF where you have Laimon, and other dudes around who can help you with your ground weakness.

I didnt like his comment "I know I'm the superior athlete"... Athleticism is only 10% of the fight game. 90% of it is technical and mental!!!!! If you can't humble yourself enough to work on your weakness, you're never going to reach the next level. It's too bad because Spratt is one of those who could because of his athleticism be one of the great ones.

I'm simply disappointed with Spratt's attitude.

His attitude probabley influenced the way he fought tonight and might've cost him the match.

I thought Spratt was going to be the one to win, he looked to be in the best shape of the two. For whatever reason he rushed in and ended up getting caught in a submission.

I still can't believe that he didn't even throw one punch or kick in that fight.
He should have unloaded on Chris when he charged in, it definitely caught him off guard.

Anyone think Spratt should take the place of JJ after he got sent home this episode?

I dunno....the way he acted after he lost, with him getting yet another career set-back and the resulting major dissapointment, kinda struck a chord with me(Think: Chris Leben crying after he lost).

Pete: "Not again, i'm sick of this Sh*t".

I dunno, about if his skills at his level though make him worthy of a "come-back" spot. But at this point if i had to choose i think maybe it would be him.

Second choice: Scott Smith. For whatever reason he did NOT live up to the expectations, could be a real wake-up call for him and if he took JJ's spot, he would improve alot in his next match. At least put up a respectable effort.

I think Rich should come back. He put in the best showing during his match. That's really how it should be judged in my opinion.

I see your point, but he's not a very likable guy, so I hope Spratt gets the 2nd chance. The advertising for the episode says the team will decide, so I don't think Stinky Scott Smith will be in it.

If I recall correctly they are doing a coin flip to decide who's coming back.

pete spratt must be the most disappointing fighter on the series or possibly in the UFC.

he is a throw back to the days of the early UFC when guys thought their bread and butter standup skills would beat the world.
he openly admits he is bad on the ground yet has made little improvement, the thing that gets me is he knows hes bad at it but has a mental block, openly saying if serra took him to the ground then the fight was over, this is no way for a fighter to act.

get some ground training, get some confidence and for petes sake stop putting yourself down.

You're right, he's got a serious attitude problem. He was beaten long before he stepped into the ring.

On his behalf, it must be rough knowing you have a second chance, but you're pretty much screwed. His chances of beating Serra were pretty slim. He needed to KO him or cut him worse with that shot when he came in. He did an ok job controlling Matt at first, i thought the ref might stand it up.

Pete probably knew and had tried to work at his ground games more than before, but a few weeks into the TUF training is not anywhere close to face a ground expert like Matt Serra. I like to see Pete comes to train with Diego's camp, by next year he should be looking solid all around.
