TUF 4 Episode 8
I think the fight between Jorge and Cote was pretty good. Lots of good strikes and some descent ground game. I noticed when watching the replays of Jorge's fights, especially the Leban fight, and when he was fighting Cote....he seems to have a bit of a weak chin. Is it just me or did that short shot that Leban landed and that glancing kick from the bottom that Cote hit him with not seem to have much on them?
Im looking forward to the next episode for sure. What are you guys' thoughts on this show?

good episode, canadians rock, chuck was coaching good it seems, thought the gray team was over reacting a bit, shonie was just playing it smart, even though if i were him it's not something i would have done.

Whoa i'd though Jorge would have won it. A guy than can last to a decision & hold his own against rich franklin would surely be a contender for the finale. But then, he also lost to leben, someone who's nowhere near rich franklin's level...hmmm....
At first it looked like jorge would have control over the match and win, but cote proved otherwise. Nice win, and this was probabley one of the BETTER fights we've seen thus far.

Often watching it on tv, its tough to judge how *hard* a hit was or how fast it was.
I used to take karate(tangsoodoo), and sometimes my sparring sessions were caught on video. While i thought my punchs&kicks were thrown fast at the time, when watching the video later on i actually seemed kinda slow instead.
I'd imagine the same is for UFC fights. Sometimes a punch looks weak or thrown slowly on video, when actually it was a quick/smashing hit. Depends.

I really liked the tips that Chuck was giving Serra and some of the others. Especially about how you can look at your fist as a ball on the end of a rope and youre trying to throw that ball through someones head. Just a nasty haymaker of a punch.

Or GSP and Silva, when they take the titles away.

I didn't get a chance to watch the whole show tonite, but saw a bit of round 2. Jorge Rivera didn't look like the same fighter who fought Rich Franklin, he seems slower and weaker. Too bad, I was hoping to see the rematch between Jorge and Rich.

Shhhh... don't say that here.
I think I know what to expect at page 2.
Anyway, nice to see Patrick make it. I think I was as worried as GSP for him, for some reason. I guess, he's just such a likeable dude.
LOL @ Serra's Jorge-imitation.
"Can we sing the same song, but instead sing 'Hor-hay'?"
And Serra had a few words about Hughes in the next one. I like him more and more every episode. He's already had a dig on Tito, Laimon and now Hughes.

I feel that way as well. I had picked Rivera to win this season. I think that we will see Jorge Rivera in the UFC again in the next year. Hopefully, he will be back on track and more improved than what we saw last night.

The fight
WOOOOOOOOOOO Cote is sweet. I think he is prolly the fave to win the whole bit unless he gets injured (knock on wood). I figured whoever won this fight would be the best pick to go to the finals. I am really enjoying the quality of fights in this TUF compared to others. I hope it keeps up. Does anyone remember some of the crappy fights in TUF 2 and 3. Anyways Go Canada Go.

I would like to see Cote and Dewees fight in the final. I think Dewees will win the whole thing.

For me, Dewees is the least likely to win at MW.

I also think Dewees will take the MW devision in TUF 4. Im leaning toward Serra for WW but not sure between him and Thomas. Both are good on the ground. I think it would make an awesome fight for the finals if both Serra and Thomas made it. The same goes for Dewees vs. Cote.

Yup, those 4 are my picks for making it to the finals, with Dewees and Thomas pulling it off.

I said Cote and Serra before the first fight and I see no reason to change my mind now.

Ya, thats a good bet for those two. I am still leaning toward Dewees and Serra though. After seeing Cote's performance and Dewees', I believe that Dewees is just as fast, can strike just as well, and is stronger than Cote.
