Why, when ppl quit watching, they will cancel it. It is still making advertising money for Spike so they have no reason to dump it.

I'm sure Spike TV and the UFC made soooooo much money off all of the TUF's and I think TUF is and will still be a cash cow for those industries...for how long? that’s what the nielsen ratings are for...

low ratings are one thing, but i have to wonder what portion of the fanbase stopped watching? was it the fans who appreciated MMA or the fans who were more into the drama/reality aspect of it? sounds like the drama majors were the ones who lost interest while the fight fans held on until the end hoping for some good fights.

Well said. And not just hoping for some good fights, but have a genuine interest in the personality of the fighters because they're recognized names in the industry.

Good point...if you get to know the fighters personality you can like/dislike them for both the fighting ability's and personality...you feel more "inside" when you know so much about a particular individual in a sport, like MMA.

I was dissapointed after just about every episode.

The idea of a bunch of men locked up in a house isn't at all exciting for me. I watched it for the fighting, and yeah, free MMA when nothing else is on, so who cares? As far as I'm concerned it was one of the best things on television, but television commonly sucks.

I didn't feel that hardly any of the fighters deserved the opportunity given to them. Pete Spratt didn't seem to care, Gideon Ray didn't seem to even take the sport seriously, Jeremy Jackson obviously has a horrible sense of priority, and I just about everybody fought poorly considering what they were fighting for. There were so many people gassed out that couldn't even finish their rounds without doing anything but lying there. I have nothing against Matt Serra, but his fights happen to be very boring. Shonie Carter wasn't even in shape...Dissapointment, all around. But remember last season, how many poor fighters there were, and how one guy was asked back and said no? And the guy that left the house to save his six month relationship? I honestly can't believe it's so difficult to find eight people with the drive and determination to make this thing interesting.

And the outcome of TUF 4 was only mildly interesting. It doesn't matter if Hughes or GSP wins, Matt Serra can't beat either of them on his best day. And can Travis Lutter take Anderson Silva? It'll be a good fight, but I doubt it.

Default Cut a little slack....just a little

I believe everyone is right to a point. The one thing that you have to remind yourself is that the major difference in this show and the other three is the fact that these are seasoned fighters. There were no team challenges and while there were teams, they really were just assigned training partners. I would imagine that any group of seasoned vets would have been the same way. I fault the idea of the "comeback" aas much as i do the fighters.

No way in hell Luttter of Serra even come close on paper but it is MMA anything can happen.
