One of the other fighters said that's what he does. Gets caught up in the trading standing up and doesn't shoot. He promised he would, and then didn't. I think he was scared the whole time.

Definitely scared. He came across to me as someone that is not willing do what it takes to win. He's only interested in not getting KO'd.
He shot one time, caught a knee to the face, and that was it.

BJ kinda called him one. I won't call any fighter who gets in that cage a punk. I mean the sacrifices they make would make all of us look foolish.
BJ had a point. Maybe Wang was one of those types that over-emphasizes his accomplishments and doesen't put the work in. Ill buy that coming from BJ Penn's mouth.

I felt that Wang had every right to be upset, but you have to take it like a man. He was not the first to lose this season, but was the first to cry uncontrollably. I'm sure the other guys were disappointed. They though are the ones that took defeat like a true warrior. Wang should of done what he knew best, the ground game. He should have not kept it on the ground especially when the other guy is more of a stand up fighter and about 30lbs heavier.

Andy Wang is an unfathomable character. Can't strike, has a black belt in BJJ, won't shoot, claims to be a warrior, and then cries after his match. I don't even have anything to say good or bad about him, he's just an odd duck.

Andy just doesn't listen to his corner or anyone else.....He should have do what he is good at and take his opponent to the ground. Andy only realized it when it is over... He was already losing so what makes him thing he can get in and KO this person..Andy had a better chance in getting him to the ground and try to submit him instead of banging....

I think wang is one of those types that have that aura and he's content with just that aura.
That aura being "I'm a fighter, don't mess with me".....So nobody does. Except when he gets his ass kicked.
But In a guy like Wang's mind (and rightfully so), the average guy on the street isnt a Cage/MMA fighter, so Wang is content with that.

Before the fight Ruediger said Wang did the same thing in his last fight, I never dreamed he'd do it again. Not only was BJ and the rest of the team stunned, but even his opponent couldnt believe he didnt try to take it to the ground. Wang even went as far as saying " I was so close to knocking him out". I myself never saw him come close to doing so. I doubt we'll ever see him fight in the UFC because I think Dana want to see coachable guys, like Corey Hill who gets better every day. I am just stunned that anyone on the show would promise his coach and his team something and then do the exact opposite in the fight. At the end he said that when people thought of Andy Wang they would think of a warrior or something like that. I will remember Andy Wang as a fighter who was foolish enough to think he knew more than a guy like BJ Penn.

I just watched the episode and I wanted to start a thread about this guy. I know I know, no fighter bashing. However in this case there isn't a fighter. That was the most pathetic, frustrating, feeble fight I have ever seen on any of the shows. Andy Wang is a g00f in my books. It was just beyond frustrating and I'm sure we can all relate. I hope he doesn't get any more airtime on the show, and notice the editing that emphasized the crying. Yes, that was done intentionally because they felt our pain watching that. I am this mad and I'm not BJ Penn trying to coach the guy. Wow, that would be unimaginable. Think of the breath BJ wasted on that.
Mods, sorry. I know the rules. The guys on the show don't necessarily count do they? I'm venting, not bashing.

Andy could have won that fight, but instead he chose to lose.

Yea Wang made a lot of poor decisions. He sounded a lot like Danny Abbadi after his loss, just less rediculous. However, i think some people are being a bit hard on him. It's a lot easier to be a keyboard warrior. Lets try not to forget that.
