UFC 2009 Roster Wishlist
We pick the 45 guys we want to see in THQ's upcoming UFC game.

US, April 30, 2008 - While we're still waiting for more details on UFC 2009, it won't stop us from speculating and dreaming about the things we want to see in the game. We speculated a couple of weeks ago about the features that would make the game a hit, but what always comes up in discussions of wrestling and boxing games are complaints about the roster. With UFC having over 100 fighters under contract at the moment, obviously, we don't expect to see them all appear in the game. We also suspect that there'll be some hidden fighters (we wish we could place odds on Dana White being in the game), but we'll leave that list for another day.

With five weight divisions and a realistic limit of around 40-50 fighters in the game, we'll split the difference and peg 45 fighters we'd like to see appear, nine in each weight class. Of course, the game should fill the weight classes with more generic fighters for you to destroy before getting to the cream of the UFC crop, but these are the 45 we'd like to see with actual caricatures and faces in the game. We'll also, in the vein of THQ's Smackdown vs. Raw series, actually give each fighter a rating, eventually revealing the highest-rated fighter in the game.
