We'll definately hope that this is getting released on the Wii. There wouldn't be anything better than actually being able to move, to control your fighter.

What kinda sucks is that We just found out a game is in the works, but we probably won't hear anything for a while and the game won't be out for a while, maybe not even next year
... and I have way too many AWESOME ideas for this game; like how to make the ground game awesome and cover everything like passing guard and getting position, lol.

I'm definitely glad to hear a game is in the works! It's going to look amazing on the next-gen consoles. Whether or not it plays good is a different question.
I'll definitely be buying it though to support the UFC. Hopefully they get it down as close as possible. It will never be a true UFC simulation style game, but if it's fun, then I could care less.

hopefully the stand up is something like fight night round 3. And if you wanted button combos you could have something like guitar hero for the ground game.

If they want this game to be a success, then the developers will let us in and talk to us regularily about the game and where it's heading and asking us for advice/tips on how to make the game better!
... specificially me
But for serious; They need to seek out the die-hard fans because we're gonna take the most convincing to buy this game. You can sell any slugger fighting game to the casual fan, but if the game has depth and somewhat simulates the actual UFC and its fights, then you've got us too!

i have a couple of cool ideas for story modes....
One you can have a more intence create-a-fighter... You are on the next TUF show and you pick who your trainers are. You have to do little side missions and training sessions like in sudden impact but you dont pick gyms you can only unlock the coachs you picked moves... Like if i pick Chuck and Tim Sylvia all i really get is striking for offence... But if i pick Matt Hughes and GSP i get a super well rounded guy who has brutal take downs. And you would compete like on the show and fight for the UFC contract.but you would still have a normal CAF like in the pride game. This is just extra and maye you could get like your coachs to stand in your cornor when you fight or somthing.... or come down to the ring or something... maybe extra attribute points.
Also a legends mode should be unlocked.... Where you get a ton of old great UFC fighters like PEdro and Ricco and some not so greats like Ken Shamrock and Frank Shamrock and Tank Abbott. In this mode you would fight for a comeback and title shot.... IF you win number 1 contendership that legend is now in your game for you to use in other modes.
In the championship mode it would be cool if say i win the ww mode with matt hughes and take the title from GSP. the next time i do WW mode with say Riggs, i have to get the tittle from hughes as aposed to set champions which it seams to be the case in sudden impact.
Tournaments should be like Grand Prix on the Pride FC game. For those of you who never played. You dont get all your health back if you get beat on a lot. Makes it harder and more fun.
I would also like tattoos not to be ****ty. I dont mind the way the wwf games let you do it now... That could be cool.
ALso i want good looking fight shorts and stuff... No more weird designs and weird gym shorts. I want Sprawl looking shorts and tap out looking shorts and so on. Soild colors too.... hate having weird colors on my CAF.
The ref should also stand you up if you dont do any damage on the ground.

Ricco Rodriguez was a "great" fighter and Frank Shamrock wasn't? Go back and watch Frank's fights from when he was in his prime. The guy was amazing.

Holy crap -- they plan on releasing a PC version, and new editions of the game annually. That's great news. I don't see the way EA puts out their sports titles every year as a cash grab. If you care about updated rosters and the occasional innovation or change in gameplay, buy the new one each year. If you don't, and you're happy with the one you've got, stick with it. I remember we played NHL '98 for about three years before bothering with a new one.
Edited to Add: BTW, a PC version means people can create and upload their own content for it. Endless possibilities...

Lots of them, by the sound of it. What this deal means is that MMA is officially going to receive the full-on video game treatment that other sports receive.
Interesting info from MMAweekly -- The WWE is pissed that THQ has signed a deal with the UFC, and the development time on a game is rarely as quick as a year (especially when they're beginning the franchise) so predictions of "late 2007" shouldn't be believed.

IGN.com: Games, Cheats, Movies and More is a good gaming site that had its headline yesterday on the UFC and THQ announcment. It even had an interview with someone from THQ. to lazy right now 2 get the address but just throwing it out there it can easily be found on the site
I liked his one comment stating that they will not sugar coat the game to receive a good rating, and that if the game needs a Mature rating so be it

Heel hook to the rescue! (Even though I couldn't disagree with you more on Ken Shamrock being a good fighter, Steven Colbert really does kick ass.)
I'm really excited about this game and even more excited that there will be a PC version, I use my pc for all my gaming, don't really see the need to shell out 400+ dollars for a console when I can get the same quality with a pc and then update my video card a year or two later and it be twice as good.
