My main at the moment is on the server Chrommagus Level 31 Orc Warrior named Durgon.

I also am making a Dwarf Warrior on Mug'Thol.

Ive played the game for a few months now just casually for a few hours a week its pretty fun but I get burnt out pretty fast.

My highest is a night elf Rogue named Hemlokken, on the Kirin-Tor server. Just turned 40 yesterday, and now I'm facing the currently-impossible task of coming up with 90 gold to buy and train my first mount. My guild is small and made up of people around my level and lower, so they're not in a position to just lay the money on me the way some guilds do.

I just recently stopped playing, if you're a PvP (Player vs Player) type of gamer go with something else. This game is a fashion show for gear whores and deviates so far from the original games (ie: Warcraft 1-2-3) intended focus it isn't even funny. The purpose of the game is to get you stuck in the equipment loop, your gear will never be enough and if you have a job there isn't enough time to get it as you'll be running instances which can sometimes take up to 6 hours or even more. Once you do get the uber epics you'll find that they just added new junk to get or 10 more levels for you to grind. Trust me when I say this as i've been a heavy gamer for a very long time, WoW is not a gamers game.

So true. The last few months of playing (maybe 6 months) I'd log on, and within minutes not only be bored, but felt like my energy had been drained from me to the point where doing anything in the game but sitting around looking at my gear talking to friends and checking the auctions was all I could manage. And for the record if anyone here is doubting my legitimacy, I regularly dominated fully epic 60s at level 58 wearing blues and I have the frapps footage to prove it. I have griefed level 40-50's with a level 20 hunter at TM which I can also substantiate with video.

Mmmm, I dunno, Droplogic. I think you're your own worst enemy in terms of your criticism of the game. Maybe it's because my main's only in the 40s, but I don't feel that I've ever been caught up in the gear grind, or that my equipment at any point hasn't been good enough for the places I'm fighting. What I like about WoW is that I've been able to solo as much as I like at any level, and there's always been a region that's either perfectly balanced for my level, or a little harder if I want the challenge.

In every MMO I've played, there are people who see the game's only purpose as getting to max level and having the top gear asap, and that usually means getting powerlevelled by guildies. I kind of feel like the game's over at that point, so why not take your time and just play at your level and enjoy what it has to offer?

I also don't bother with larger instances for exactly the reason you say -- they eat up an unreasonable amount of time. If there's gear that I'll never get because I don't do them, that's cool.

I'm no powerleveler by any stretch, I take my time and fully enjoy each level I go through. That being said i'm a PvP gamer, I want to fight other players not mindless AI, never had a problem soloing nearly all quests with my rogue and definately no problem with my priest. It really does have a lot to do with your characters all being around the level 40 range. Once you get into the higher levels your time investement must either increase exponentially or you'll find yourself left behind on everything. I hate to say it but "you'll see". I was having a lot of fun till I got around level 58 and then it felt like a job. I did avoid the gear grind and and just focused on PvP but eventually if you want to fight the tougher people or kill 3-4 guys rather than just 1-2 or none at all you need better equipment, to get the better equipment you need to hit up the bigger instances, to get into the bigger instances you need to join a bigger guild (or pug and hope you don't get ninjad). Have fun while you can though, it was fun for me for quite a while, but when it does get old move on, it isn't worth it to get the better gear in the game because they'll just release better.

Yeah, I'm not into PvP at all. I just like soloing quests and occasionally doing them in small groups. If at any point I hit a level where doing that is frustrating, I'll just role a new character.

I used to play everquest, then WOW. Take my advice, stay off this stuff. Its the funnest, most addictive waste of time you will ever encounter and it took me nearly a year to get off the stuff lol. Been clean 5 months now! New addiction, Fightforum .

haha seriously though, if you can resist playing it 24/7, its fun, pick it up.

Wow someone else actually played DAOC???

I have multiple DAOC toons, most of them on the Killibury cluster Alb side.
I also play WoW, I have a 70 pally on Kel'Thuzad. WoW is a lot of Pve, too much imo, I have really slowed down playing and have recently reactivated my DAOC account. The PVP in DAOC is unbeatable imo, it is just awesome.

I've played a bunch of MMOs, but DAOC is one I haven't even tried a demo of yet. It's really that good?

Yes it is but it is about 6 years old now so the player base is dwindling, people will get sick of any game.

They dont even call their PVP PVP, they call it RVR (Realm vs realm). There are 3 different realms in the game and the RVR includes siege, tower and keep defense, and good ol' 8vs8 (a grp of 8 vs another grp of 8). It is also viable to solo pvp or run small groups, just have to go to the right place. You fight in a place which is called "the frontiers" and you have the ability to mount attacks on enemy structures or just sit there and wait for people to run out of the keeps/towers and gank them. Each realm has their own unique land in which you have to travel by boat to get there to attack. I have played so many games and the feeling you get from "RVR" is that of none other. The PVE grind is soooooo much easier than WoW so even with the low playerbase I think it would be worth it for you or anyone to give it a try.

I'm in the Midgard realm I currently have a 29 Berserker Warrior on the Tristan server, like 3 years ago I had a 35 Berserker when it was still tough to level in that game, but then I stopped playing for awhile. I'm also a 500 armorcrafter(Talk about a money drain!)

So I discovered today that some kid is using my name "Kentified" that I created years ago and using it in WoW.

I'm thinking of filing a lawsuit.

I never got into WoW. I played Asheron's Call for about 6 years, so it pretty much drained me of wanting to play any MMOs. I did try it, though. It just wasn't for me.

Wow is a great game, but is very addicting also. It does make you very lazy, and all you want to do is play. On that note ive taken a break from the game lol.

BTW i have a 70 mage, 70 rogue, 42 shaman all of them are on LLAne server.
