The gameplay is terrible. The best wrestling game to date in my opinion is still No Mercy on the N64.

Picked this up at the weekend. Its ok....playability isnt amazing and is quite sluggish, but apparently they wanted to recreate the arcade feel, which they have done in fairness.
In terms of nostalgia its great tho...so many old characters from the days I used to watch WWF. Lots of good old videos showing the promos for the matches and highlights of the matches themselves.
Overall I'd give it 7/10......but if this isnt your era of wrestling then you probably wont enjoy it much at all.

so has anyone played the Demo. Played a few games last night. First impressions: Not bad, but somewhat underwhlemed, but would probably still buy since I am a fan of old school WWF. Seems to be a button mashers paradise. Graphics were very nice and the videos were very cool.

Yup, it's not bad either. Yuke's usually makes good wrestling simulations. Takes me back to being a little bastard instead of an old bastard :)

SWIBC | shocked to not see all of Strike Force, Demolition!!!, Mike Rotunda, Don Muraco and of course Randy "Macho Man" Savage (probably wanted to much $$$) |
The wwe owns the names of thier fighters 7 ex fighters so unless randy got out of it somehow they should be able to use his name.

SeikanJudanski | Where are Mr. Wonderful Paul Orndorff, King Kong Bundy and Big John Studd? |
On the 2nd video they announce that Big John Studd will be in the game. They show footage of him too, so I'd say its pretty certain he'll be in there.

I could name off like 20 more guys they should have put in there. Junk yard dog, Killer bees, greg the hammer, slick, kamala, hacksaw, and ect. This is when wrestling was the S**T !!!! Now a days it's just not the same. They took it too far now. It has become a Males version of a soap opera. The story lines are way out of hand.

No Antonio Inoki? He divested his ownership in New Japan to Yuke's Co and his son Simon several years ago.. guess it's because he still operates Inoki Genome Federation? EDIT: Turns out Yuke's actually owns the rights to Inoki's image and that also includes digital representation.. ouch.

I wish Randy Savage was in it, other then that the roster looks good. A lot of great old school 80's/early 90's favorites plus a few of the top Attitude era wrestlers means we will be able to set up a bunch of great dream matches. :biggthump
